The Zempire Monstamat Twin is the affordable yet plush double camping mattress that you’ve been searching for, and now you’ve found it!
The surface of this mat is made from 30D Super Stretch Ripstop fabric for durability and comfort, while the base is a 75D Poly Pongee which is a little more hardwearing. The Megamat has a 3D construction, is cross-cored, and features anti-bacterial foam to prevent moisture from building up inside the mat making it a quality mat for the price.
With 10cm of cushioned support, the Monstamat really amps up the competition in the camping mat category. The high-volume valve lets air flow through easily, so you can inflate and deflate this mat with ease. This mat is also fully bonded, so you won’t have one hip sink into the ground onto the cold tent floor while you sleep.
Carrying and storing this mat is easy-peasy, as it comes with its own carry bag with an included strap. The roomy Zempire Monstamat Twin has an excellent balance of price, weight and comfort for those who are after a camping mat that won’t burn a hole in your wallet.
Hey, so if this mat can't be left in RTTs due to excessive heat concerns, does that also mean it cannot me left in sheds that heat up during summer too? We have an old tin garage that also gets stinking hot which is where everything else gets stored but this wouldn't be suitable there either?
G'day Nic,
A roof top tent is abit different, as it black, and generally in full sun most of the time with the mat being in a small enclosed area.
Whilst a tin shed would get hot, its not quite the same, unless its in full sun.
We store all of our camping gear in the tin shed, except for our self inflating mats & sleeping bags which go in the top of wardrobes, or under beds.
You can still store your mat in the shed, for sure, heaps of people do. Ideal scenario if its a little tin hot box in the middle of summer, would be store it inside if you can.
Why do you guys recommend that these can’t be stored in a roof top tent ? If they are able to fit thickness wise is there any other reason ?
G'day Greg,
All self-inflating mat brands have advised us that their mats are not to be kept inside a packed roof top tent of any kind. Even if the mat remains flat, it can be subject to large temperature fluctuations in a roof top tent over the course of the year which can effect the glue and bondings on the foam.
There have been a few claims on self inflating mats that have bubbled or ballooned out for this reason, and are not covered by warranty.
Ofcourse you can use it in your rooftop tent, but we'd strongly advise removing it for pack up.
Probably you have answered it many times but it was years ago..so asking if there is any pump which can deflate this mattress ? With so many pumps came up last year, wondering if there is any. I have heard about Exped mega pump. When it will be available in Australia?
Not sure about the EXPED mega pump sorry - in terms of a pump for deflating, you'll be able to use any pump that has a deflate function. There arent any that click in and seal to the valve, but thats not necessary. It's more than adequate to hold the deflate port of a pump up against the valve, and that will do the trick.
I have an Exped Widget pump and a Coleman 12v pump. Can I use these to inflate the Zempire Monstamat?
G'day Srav,
Those pumps aren't directly compatible as the Zempire mats use a larger valve. We have had some suggestions for finding a friend with a 3D printer to print a valve that will work.
You would need to manually hold the pump up to the valve, as it has a one-way flange, it will inflate. Just be cautious to not overinflate your mattress.
Hi, i am considering to get one twin and one single to fit 3 person and would like to join them together. I am not sure if this mattress Is able to do that or i can buy some attachments to do it like vekcro tape? Thank you
G'day Anthea,
The mattresses don't have a built-in connection option.
There are moat coupling kits available, but these are designed to join two singles or two king single mats, and generally arent large enough to go around a double mat.
You could look at using 2 x buckle straps instead - you'd need 4.5m to loop around both mats, so the Sea to Summit 2pk 4.5m tie downs would be a great choice
Hello, just wondering if this product will fit inside an zempire zues hiking tent, 2 person.? The tent measurements state 140cm wide but I know it tappers down toward the feet end. Thinking this would go very close to fitting. I wonder if you could please try and let me know before I purchase. Many thanks.
G'day Mick,
The Zempire Monstamat Twin mat doesn't fit in the Zeus - as you've mentioned, due to the taper, the sleeping area is too small.
The current Zeus model is 135cm wide and tapers down to 115cm wide - we'll get the specs updated ASAP.
Hi, our double mat has been rolled up deflated and in storage for a couple of years. It doesn't seem to be doing much now that we have unrolled it and opened the valve. Any tricks to restore the mat for use? Thanks.
G'day Tony,
The foam is probably really heavily compressed and having a hard time expanding. Usually best practice would be to get a self inflating mat out every few months if you're not going away, and even though they are fully bonded, I'm not sure any self-inflating mat would recover well after years of compressed storage.
A few things you can try are keeping it in a warm area or space in the house, or try manually adding a bit of air every day over say a week, to try and reinvigorate the foam. I wouldn't go straight into fully inflating it from the get go. If the foam has become stiff and stuck together, forcing it to fully inflate might cause some issues.
Hi there, just wondering if this is too hot to sleep on in summer, as we live in SEQ. Thanks
G'day Aimee,
Self-infalting mattresses provide insulation between the ground and you, but they don't generate any heat or make you hot - just like your mattress at home doesn't make you hotter, it's your quilt or blankets.
Ultimately as long as your bedding is suitable for the temperatures you're in, you shouldn't have any issues.
Hope that helps!
Is this mattress noisy when rolling over?
G'day Judy,
This mat isn't very noisy when moving around as it has a soft stretchy material on the top which reduces the noise.
Hey guys, I am looking at purchasing this mattress and once my ute canopy is built I'll be setting it up as my sleeping area. Is it ok to have this mattress permanently set up and made up ready to go?
G'day Bec,
I cant see any reason why this would be an issue. The only consideration being in the back of a canopy would be temperature and making sure it doesn't get too hot or experience really extreme temperature fluctuations.
Things like parking in the shade and having ventilation on hot days so the mattress doesn't get cooked would be the best bet, but you're likely to do that anyway if you're sleeping in it I would imagine!
Hi Snowys, Are you able to let me know how long the straps that are used to pack it up are. This is for the twin. Cheers
G'day Ray,
It's a velcro strap and its total length is 130cm.
There are 2 that come with the mat - hope that helps!
If I want to transport this on the roof due to its bulky size, is there a waterproof bag you recommend?
G'day Matt,
There's no waterproof bag option for these mats. The cheapest and easiest solution is to wrap up whatever you're transporting on the roof with a tarp.
Alternatively, you can get away with something like the Big River Dry Sack in the largest size, if you can roll your mattress up tight enough, there's also the Oztrail Swag Sac or the Coleman Heavy Duty Tent Bag which are quite large, but any excess bag can be folded or tucked away.
Hi Snowy's, Will this mattress fit in the 1400 Bandit and be able to rolled up in the canvas bag? Cheers for any feedback
G'day Alex,
Yep, it will be able to fit in the Bandit 1400. You can definitely roll it up in the swag, but we cant say for sure if it will still fit in the bag - depending on whatever other bedding you'll have included.
If it's just the mat & no bedding, and you pull the matt and decompress it separately before popping it back in a rolling it up, you should be ok.
Hi, Do you think you would he able to open up a 23zero Outbreak fully pegged out and see if this mat fits inside it okay with the rounded corners on mat and cut in corners on swag? I know from measurement that it would be very tight so need a test to know. Thanks
G'day Bruno,
Unfortunately, double/queen self-inflating mats don't work with the Outbreak swags due to the floor shape.
The corners ultimately have to fold up in order to fit in, which isn't great for the internal foam structure. and with the mattress pressing against the walls of the swag this can create a moisture pooling point for any condensation.
Hi I have been using this since Jan. It's getting cold, so I'm thinking to us an electric heat blanket for winter season. I will put a thin blanket on top of the Monstamat and then put a electric heat blanket. So I'd like to inquire if it will be ok(Safe?) I heard that It's dangerous to use electric blanket with memory foam mat ( I can make fire) This mat is made of memory foam, right? I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon Kind regards,
G'day Taejung,
We're not an expert on this, but I've just checked in with Zempire & they have said no.
Its definitely not something that can be recommended due to the mattress material, and the excessive heat could cause the bonding in the mattress to separate.
If you are camping, we'd recommend adding an extra closed cell foam under the Zempire mat - such as a yoga mat, for eg. - and upgrading your bedding.
I was wondering if these are comfortable enough on their own or is it better to use them on a stretcher
G'day Tracy,
You absolutely don't need a stretcher, it's more common for mats to be used on the ground as not everyone has room in their camp kit to add stretchers. Stretchers can be handy if you have mobility issues though, or just prefer not to be on the ground for whatever reason.
Would the twin fit in a Darche 1100 Air Volution swag?
G'day Donna,
It wouldn't, sorry. The Darche 1100 Air Volution is 110cm wide.
The only self-inflating mat we carry that fits perfectly is the Darche All Terrain 1100 Mat
I’m looking at purchase this or the Coleman High Peak Double Camp Mat to fit 1 adult and 2 7 year old kids
G'day Tony,
Yes, you will be able to fit a Monstamat or Coleman High Peak Double Camp Mat in a Swagger 3P, but I'd question if they'd be big enough for 3 bodies.
I personally wouldn't be able to share these with 2 young kids, as they're both only around 130cm wide.
One of my colleagues only just fits with her 9-year-old.
I'd encourage you to consider marking out the dimensions of the mattresses on the floor, and all laying down to see how you'd fit.
If too narrow, you'll have room to fit an extra single in aswell.
We have the double Kamp-Rite stretcher. Would you recommend the twin self inflating mattress or two singles in a swag on top of the stretcher?
G'day Deb,
If you've got the Queen Kwik Cot Stretcher then we'd recommend two single mats rather than a twin due to the central bar on the stretcher.
Hi - need some advice on what glue to use to fix a small 1-2mm hole. I have the patches provided but the glue that came with it was useless. Thanks.
G'day Cam,
Sorry to hear the glue you've got isn't great. We generally use Gear Aid Seam Grip for all of our in-house repairs here, it's a great product and will do the job.
Will accidentally leaving the inflatable valve open while folding/rolling it up (when packing up) likely to cause damage? I've got one and have done this a couple of times.. ever since, it seems to lose air overnight.
G'day Johhny,
Generally, this won't cause damage, but will make it very difficult to fold/roll. Depending on the age of your mattress you may have accidentally lost the small clear-ish O-ring in the valve, which might be why your mat is now losing air.
Hi there, I am wondering if this will fit inside a Coleman Pop Up Dark Room 2 person tent? Thanks!
G'day Monique,
Unfortunately, the Monstamat Twin is too wide to fit in the Coleman Pop Up Darkroom 2P Tent. The foot end tapers down to 105cm which is significantly narrower than the mattress. We'd recommend using two hike style mattresses in this tent if two people are planning to sleep in it.
Is there a pump that is compatible with this mat to help inflate
G'day Nick,
The Zempire Valve is quite unique and a slightly different size to the smaller hand pumps we carry for other mats (e.g. Exped). You could use the airbed fitting on a rechargeable or 12V pump, however, we've found that these mats are pretty good at self-inflating on their own after their initial inflating following unboxing.
Hey just wondering whether this mate would fit in the Darche airvolution 1400? Just worried about the air poles in each of the corners. Thanks
G'day Sam,
Unfortunately at the moment, we've got no way to physically check this for you, but we think it should be ok. The mat dimensions are only a few centimetres larger than the swag internally, and given that they are fairly pliable we think you should be ok.
Does this mean it is inflated for a couple of days before deflating and packing it up for camping?
G'day Libby,
We recommend letting any self-inflating mattress inflate for this amount of time due to the factory packaging which compresses the foam. It's advisable to let it inflate in a warm room if possible for as long as possible, to help expand the foam fully. Once it's done this then you'll find that it should inflate quite quickly when you're using it for camping (depending on the air temperature). We also recommend storing your mattress flat rather than rolled up which will help to keep the foam in good condition.
Will a double and two singles fit in a Oztent RV 5?
G'day Johan,
The sleeping area of an RV5 measures 260 x 260 - from my calculations, you would be able to comfortably fit a double and a single only.
Is Exped mini pump fits Zempire Monstamat valve.
G'day Myron,
Unfortunately not, the Zempire valve is a little larger than the Exped Valve.
Is this sleeping mat good for cold conditions?
G'day Kirsten,
The Monstamat Twin has insulation and has an R-value of 9.5, it will suit sleeping in cold conditions.
I have a Motop hard shell rooftop tent and I would like to upgrade the mattress to a zempire monstamat twin. My only concern is that it won't be able to deflate with only the pressure of the tent pressing down on it instead of rolling it up. Any ideas as to whether it will work? I know they are 100mm thick when inflated, I need it to compress to a minimum of 50mm for it to work.
G'day Nathan,
Based on your description we think it should work. You'll probably need to fold the mat in half and squeeze out the air before you pack your tent up, but it should flatten to 30-40mm thick. You may need to just be careful of any potential pinch points.
Hi guys, have checked Q&A and can't find a response similar, but has anyone used these underneath the less than ideal foam mattresses in pop top campers to add height and comfort? Figured inflated it would be unlikely to fit with lid down so my questions are two part: 1. has anyone done this; and 2. does the mat deflate to a point without adding the rolling process in? (would just be switched to deflate and stored either on/under existing mattress. Thanks in advance!
G'day Simone,
Thanks for getting in touch, the Monstamat Twin Camp Mat can be used in most camper trailers, however, we wouldn't recommend leaving the mat in the trailer when you pack it up. If you chose to do this then you can flip the valve to deflate, and with pressure on top of the mat, most of the air will push out of it.
Hi I'm going to buy a darche dusk to dawn 1400 swag and wonder how this compares to the Darche ATM 1400 're comfort quality ease of back assuming fit
G'day Peter,
The Monstamat Twin Camp Mat has a memory foam style self-inflating mattress, whereas the ATM 1400 has a high-density foam mattress. The Monstamat will pack down a lot smaller than the ATM due to the type of foam and the construction. In terms of comfort, we tend to get more customer reviews on the Monstamat that they're very comfortable and easy to use, in comparison to the ATM 1400.
Can I use vacuuming suction to deflate it? It takes a lot effort for me to deflate every time.
G'day Judy,
Thanks so much for your question.
Vacuuming your air mattress is not recommended and doing this will void any potential warranty issues.
Double check that you are switching the mattress valve over to "deflate" and its sealing properly before rolling up your mattress. If that valves not in the right position it will still be drawing air back into your mattress, no matter how hard you're trying to push it out!
Another alternative, if you dont have one already, would be a 12/240v mattress pump running on the deflate function. You could check out the Zempire Super 2 Way Pump or the Coleman Quickpump Rechargeable 12v/240v as options for this.
Hope that helps.
As its quite bulky I'm wondering if I can transport it on the roof rack without it getting wet etc.
G'day Brendan,
Zempire hasn't provided any specs on the carry bag mate and although it might provide a bit of protection from light misty rain, it's definitely not waterproof. You'd be wanting to double bag it with something a bit more rugged and durable for roof rack transportation in the rain. Something like the Caribee Expedition Wet Roll Bag would do the job - size-wise and weather protection :)
Can I still store it deflated and rolled up in its storage bag or do you recommend it being stored inflated?
G'day Alice,
In an ideal world, if you have space, the best way to store a self-inflating mat is unrolled and with the valve open, however, the reality is that most people don't have the space to do this. So yes you can store it rolled up in the storage bag, we'd just suggest getting it out the week before a trip and allow it to inflate, then roll it up and repeat a few times so it bounces back and inflates itself well on your first night of a trip.
It got muddy and wet. Can i wash it with garden hose and soap?
G'day Bambi,
Sorry to hear about your muddy monstamat, we probably wouldn't recommend washing it with a hose and soap. We'd suggest using a cloth and some mild soap to try and wipe off the offending mud, however we wouldn't suggest soaking / waterlogging it.
G'day. Judging by the dimensions, laying two of these side-by-side inside an Oztent RX-5 might not work. What do you think? If it's not this product, what might you recommend? Thank you!
G'day Andrew,
Two twin mattresses side by side are going to be just that little bit too wide for the width of the RX-5. From personal experience, its also not ideal to have your mattress touching the sides of a tent as condensation tends to gather - making the mattress quite damp. A Twin and a King Single Monstamat would work better inside this tent (but may not work for your situation!) I've also checked most of our range of self-inflating mattresses and they are all of a similar width as well.
Is the valve the same screw on fitting as the supercell electric pump so you can deflate the mattress fully?
G'day Jeffrey,
I've checked our display stock and unfortunately, we don't have a match. The end of the hose of the pump is much smaller in size than the valve on the Monstamat.
Do you think there will be an issue with the high volume valve rubbing on the middle support of an Oztrail easy fold queen stretcher and damaging the valve?
G'day Nathan,
This is a pretty popular combination of the Monstmat Twin Camp Mat and Oztrail Easy FOld Queen Stretcher and we've not heard of anyone having any issues, so we think it should be fine!
Hi, which stretcher would be best to use this mat with? And does the middle bar on some stretchers affect the mat / comfort of the people sleeping on it?
G'day Veronica,
The Monstamat Twin Camp Mat will fit on the Oztrail Easy Fold Queen Stretcher and Zempire Speedy Stretcher Bed will both suit the Monstamat Twin. Generally, the centre bar will create a little bit of a hump in the middle of the mat. We find lots of people tend to go for two single mats to avoid this issue.
Hi, I’m keen to purchase one of theses mats? Will you be getting stock again?
G'day Kin,
We are due to recieve more Zempire Monstamat Twin mattresses in the next month or two.
Hi, when will this be in stock again?
G'day Miz,
We're due to have them back instock in the next month or so.
Could I leave this inside a double swag & roll them up together?
G'day Brett,
You sure can! Your best bet would be to pull the mattress out of the swag, and do a mock roll up to make sure its thoroughly deflated first, then put it back in. That way you know the mattress has decompressed as much as possible, and will reduce the overall bulk of your packed swag. You can just roll them both up at the same time, although it will abit more awkawrd, and not as effective if packed space is an issue for you.
Have been doing this for ages in our single swags and just tried it in our folks double dome swag successfully. We don't take the mattress out to roll separately, never have. The trick is to fold the swag, with mattress in it, into thirds and sit on it which pushes majority of air out. Unfold and roll swag as normal. This process then pushes any minimal residual air out. Easy as. Great mattresses. Highly recommend for swags.
Does the Zempire Monstamat twin fit inside the Marmot Tungeston 2p.
G'day Stephen,
The Zempire Monstamat Twin will be a tiny bit too big for the Tungsten 2P tent. The two items are from different categories with the Tungsten being a hiking tent and the Zempire mat being a camping mat so might be worth looking at a camping style tent instead of a hiking tent if you're not hiking.
Just wondering if mat once inflated will fit, tried another product based on online measurements of both the tent and bed and got burnt, bed didn't fit.
G'day Josh,
Given the Quest 2P is by Kathmandu and not a tent that we stock, it's hard for us to guarantee that the Monstamat Twin will fit. I can only go by their online measurements which, by the sounds of things, have let you down previously. However, I can confirm that our measurements are correct. The Monstamat Twin is 201L x 132W cm and 10 cm thick. If Kathmandu has listed their measurements for the Quest 2P correctly, the mat should fit but like I said mate, I can't absolutely guarantee it. Cheers :)
Just wondering if this will fit in the Darche Nebula 1550 or whether the tapered ends of the swag will get in the way. Thanks
G'day Lachlan,
The Monstamat Twin Camp Mat should theoretically fit inside the Nebula 1550, however, it's hard to give an exact answer as the Nebula is a rectangle with the corners missing. We don't currently have a Nebula 1550 on display to be able to completely confirm that for you sorry.
Hey I’m wondering if you have tried this yet??
G'day Sarah,
I've had a look at this for you now, and unfortunately, it doesn't really work. The mat will physically fit in the Nebula, however, the corners of the mat will be crumpled up against the edges of the swag at the tapered corners, so it's not something we'd recommend.
Will this fit and be able to fold away/ pack up with the darche panorama 2 roof top tent.
G'day Michael,
The Monstamat Twin Camp Mat will fit inside the Panorama 2 RTT, it won't be quite as large as the sleeping area, but it will fit. The mat would need to be removed and separately rolled as the folding action of the rooftop tent may damage the mat. The Darche RTM 1400 is a two-part mattress that is able to be folded up with the tent.
Hey, I was just wondering if this double fits inside the Darche dirty Dee 1400? Thanks
G'day Shane,
Yes, the Zempire Monstamat Tent Camp Mat will fit inside the Dirty Dee 1400 with a few
On the specs the Zempire Monstamat Twin is longer than the 200x200 Oztent RV2 by 1cm. Would I get away with this combo? Otherwise it looks perfect for my needs and I remember that the tub floor in my parents’ RV2 is pretty flexible.
G'day Andrew,
The Zempire Monstamat Twin Camp Mat will fit inside an RV2 with a little suggestion. As you indicated the floor is fairly flexible and will have plenty of
I have an RV-2 and a Monstamat Twin. It only just fits inside the tent, rubbing against the frame and/or wall depending on orientation. I have concerns about abrasion from the fram in the long term, as well as bedding getting wet when the walls soak through in a heavy down pour (this could be alleviated by using an OZtent Fly.
What are main differences between the two as there is a clear price increase for the Exped?
G'day Andrew,
The Zempire Monstamat Twin Camp Mat and the Exped Megamat Duo are similar products but have a few key differences. The Exped is a Swiss-designed high-quality self-inflating Mat, with high-quality materials, workmanship and design. Exped back their product with a 5-year warranty. The Zempire Mat is essentially a really good alternative but made more cheaply, they are slightly heavier, use different materials and are only backed by as 1-year warranty. Overall there doesn't appear to be much of a difference between the mats, but I guess the warranty period may indicate the overall quality of the product.
Would this be suitable for the Neo 3? Specs look like it could be a little 'tight' Maybe two singles would be a better option?
G'day Neil,
Thanks for getting in touch. The Zempire Monstamat Twin Camp Mat will fit in the Neo 3, it will be a little squeezy in one direction but should still fit well with a little extra room for bags etc.
Hi there I just recieved a monstamat and started to inflate it. I will leave it inflating for 1-2 days as per suggestion. Once done, how do I deflate it? Is it a matter of folding it lengthwise and rolling it up? And would I close the rotating valve when rolling it up?
G'day Darren,
Thanks for getting in touch. The Montatmat has a rotating valve so when you're ready to deflate the mat you turn the valve around to the deflate mode. In terms of rolling it, we'd generally recommend folding it in half lengthwise and squashing as much air out of it as you can, then
I understand that self-inflating mats should be stored inflated, but notice in the review that you mention storing this one rolled up. Would it be OK to store it long-term rolled up (ie at home between trips)?
G'day Judith,
It is fine to store the Monstamat Twin Camp Mat rolled up, but best practice for self-inflating mats is to store them flat with the valves open if possible to reduce the constant compression of the foam. If you do have to store them rolled up I would recommend getting them out and allowing them to self inflate at least every few months.
I like quite a firm sleeping surface. How does this mat compare to others like the exped megamat and black wolf double that have a pump/bag to add extra air?
They are all comparable in this respect, Meredith. You can add as much air as you are able to any of these mats. The main difference is that you need to use your mouth to inflate the Monstamat whereas Exped and Black Wolf include inflation aids with their mats.
Once pumped up tightly, they will all offer similar levels of comfort.
Our mat is leaking air from around the valve. Where the valve is welded to the mattress. Please advise how to repair.
G'day Darren,
I can't be certain without seeing it, but it sounds like it might be worth us taking a look at this for you as it might be something that's covered by
Hi, I have read a lot of reviews and am thinking of getting one.. Just curious, are folks having issues with the rotating valve as it looks like that will be the first part that breaks.. in case it breaks or pops out, are replacement valves easily available? It seems to be held in place at the top and bottom rotating axis by not much...
G'day Muneesh,
As far as I know, we haven't seen any valve issues with the Zempire Monstamats. They come with a 1-year warranty and they're a great bunch of people to deal with so I'm sure we can get it sorted out if you did have any dramas. I've just had a play with them and if you did manage to pop it out of the main valve it's really easy to push it back in place. Also worth noting that you can still use the mat without the rotating piece in the valve, it's really there to prevent air getting sucked back in while you're rolling the mat up, but the main valve cap will still seal the unit and allow you to get a good nights sleep regardless.
I am deciding between Zempire Monstamat and DUNE. Any thoughts on what the difference is? Challenge is that I have not tried Zempire and am a bit hesitant about ordering it without trying. There is no store in Mel which has Zempire. Reviews of Zempire look nice, so am thinking of getting Zempire..
G'day Max,
Unfortunately, Dune is Anaconda's home brand, so I can't honestly comment as I'm not familiar with any of their products. I can say that I do find the Zempire mats really comfortable when trying them out in the shop here, even when comparing them to more expensive options. They've certainly been getting good reviews on our website as well from customers that have purchased them.
The length is advertised as 201cm - is that accurate? It seems really long. Is there options that are 190cm long?
G'day Michael,
I've been downstairs and measured these and 201cm is pretty spot on. The only twin mat in our range that is a bit shorter is the Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress that measures up at 183cm long.
Just wondering if you could confirm if i might be able to fit 2 of these double mats inside an rv5 tent?
G'day Lance,
I can't test this properly as we've only got one of the Zempire Monstamat Twin camp mats on display, but I've measured both the mat and the tent floor and I think it will be a bit tight. They'd fit just, but it's going to be a real squeeze up against the frame of the tent and the mats might not quite sit perfectly flat.
I notice that the length of this is 201cm and the queen stretcher tent is 200cm long. I would of thought this extra 1cm wouldn’t matter?
G'day Michael,
I probably wouldn't recommend using a mattress any longer than about 195cm inside the Oztrail All Weather Queen Stretcher. If the mattress is touching the ends then you might have some issues with moisture coming through on to the mattress.
What self-inflating mattress would you recommend? I am looking for a double so it will sit over the centre rail
G'day Michael,
The best double sleeping mat to use in the Oztrail All Weather Queen Stretcher Tent would be the Zempire Twin Bomber Pad as it has a "fold" in the middle to accommodate use on a double stretcher. It's also short enough and narrow enough that you won't have it hitting the sides etc.
New to these types of camp mats -deciding whether to get a twin camp mat or 2 singles for my husband and myself - can you feel your partner's movements like with an air mattress?
G'day Aimee,
I've actually got a Zempire Megamat Twin Camp Mat myself. My partner and I don't disturb each other at all during the night, it's definitely not like an airbed.
