About us

If we roll back the clock to the mid-90s, Richard, our founder, opened up a small shed-like storefront, selling outdoor gear to the locals living in the western suburbs of Adelaide. Within 2 years, the business outgrew the little shop and moved to Richmond Rd, Keswick (photo above) in a store 15 times the size! That big orange building has been the home of Snowys ever since.

Assistant Store Manager

About the role

Snowys is growing and in need of an Assistant, Retail Store Manager to join the team at our Keswick Store. We are looking for someone who aligns with our purpose and vision and can work in a fast-paced industry. This role will require you to have an eye for detail and experience working in a Senior Management role.   Working an arrangement of days which encompasses both Saturday and Sunday each week with 2 consecutive RDO's of your choosing during the week 

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the Store Manager when they are absent
  • Opening and closing of the store
  • Overseeing daily store operations
  • Ensuring that sales are maximised
  • Create a safe working environment for all customers and team members
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Make sure everyone maintains Snowys core values.
  • Inventory management
  • Rostering

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Previous Assistant Store Management experience in a high turnover store is essential
  • Previous experience in managing large team sizes of around 20+
  • The ability to prepare rosters to achieve store budgets
  • A keen eye for Visual Merchandising
  • The ability to merchandise and organise stock to maximise sales on the shop floor
  • Necessary skills resolve both customer and staff disputes
  • Desire to challenge yourself to achieve company and personal growth
  • High personal standards in providing superior customer service
  • Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and lead a team to reach their potential

Store Sales Team Members

We're on the lookout for a handful of passionate outdoor enthusiasts to join our vibrant sales team, assisting customers with their upcoming adventure to join our team at our Keswick store.

You probably think that we're only on the lookout for a typical sales guru? Not quite. Although sales experience helps - we're really interested in finding a camping, hiking and/or traveller who is personable, vibrant, energetic with a willing to learn.

So, if you've had extensive camping, hiking and/or travel experience, studied outdoor recreation or are involved in the Scouts community or similar - we'd love to hear from you!

Your duties will include:

  • Retail, sales or customer service experience – especially in the outdoor industry
  • Brilliant verbal communications skills – both in person and on the phone
  • Experience working with POS systems and Microsoft Office
  • A creative brain to assist with merchandising displays
  • Oh, and a love for camping and the outdoors is crucial
