Once you've let it inflate initially you should expect it to inflate within 30-60 mins. This will generally depend on the weather and how you store the mat at home.

The short answer is probably not, we've had a bit of a go with a mega deluxe and a super deluxe (we didn't have two display models the same)and while they fit, we probably wouldn't recommend it as the mats push up against the canvas a fair bit. You might find that it leads to the sides leaking if you did something like this. The Mega Deluxe Double Mat is probably a slightly better option.

We'd suggest using Seam Grip to repair the base if it's a small tear/hole, but if it is larger (5c coin or larger) we'd probably suggest a combination of seam grip and repair patches. You could use a Sleeping Mat Repair Kit from Sea to Summit.

Yes, the Black Wolf Mega Deluxe Camp Mat will fit the King Goanna stretcher.

They're both really great mats of similar quality.  The main difference is in the construction, with the 3D build of the Zempire Monstamat being similar to a mattress with side walls.  I personally find the Monstamat more comfortable, but a quick straw poll around the office seems to show a fairly even divide bewteen the two.  Probably not helpful sorry!  The valves in both mats allow for easy fine tuning of firmness, which is handy.  Overall my assesment is that the Mega Deluxe Camp Mat is the firmer of the two.

We cant really speak to the longevity of the Zempire Monstamat as its a fairly new product we've only had for around 6 months, but the customer feedback is so far so good.  The Mega Deluxe Camp Mat also has great reviews and has been around for years, one of my collegues has had hers for 4 years still going strong.

Warranties essentially cover manufacturing faults. The Zempire warranty period is 1 year, where the Black Wolf has a limited lifetime warranty. Anything considered fair wear and tear will not be covered.

The Black Wolf Mega Deluxe will fit in the Oztent Bunker Stretcher. It is a really tight fit, but it will just fit. The Black Wolf Super Deluxe or the Black Wolf Deluxe will fit better but both will be thinner and not quite as warm as the Mega Deluxe.

I've wandered downstairs and packed up our display model for you. I did my usual double roll, once to get the bulk of the air out and again to get it rolled up neatly and the circumference measured 70cm, or roughly 20cm high x 20cm wide.

There are no formal weight limits on either the Black Wolf Mega Deluxe Camp Mat or the Exped Megamat. I would be very comfortable though that you wouldn't have any issues with 140kg on them. They're incredibly good mats that would have more pressure than that going through them when they're rolled up for storage.

You won't have any issues storing your Black Wolf Mega Deluxe Camp Mat rolled up. The only side-effect will be that it takes a little longer to inflate if it's been left rolled up for a long time. The way it's stored won't affect the warranty, unless you store it in the rain or something of course.

The Black Wolf Mega Deluxe Camp Mat is about 8cm longer than the Oztent Gecko Stretcher, this will mean that the camp mat will hang over the ends slightly but should still work perfectly fine on the stretcher.

If you have any warranty issues with the Black Wolf Mega Deluxe Camp Mat, you won't need to worry about having to pay for any postage to get it back to us. We usually get the ball rolling by just asking for a couple of photos of the issue and then go from there. If we need to get it back at all, then we will cover that in the case of a warranty claim.

At risk of sounding like I'm sitting on the fence a little, they're both really great mattresses. We would sell more of the Exped Megamats than the Black Wolf Mega Deluxe Camp Mat and wouldn't get any more of them returned, which might be a bit of a sign of their durability. It's also worth noting the limited lifetime warranty on the Black Wolf which gives you peace of mind. I would say though that the Black Wolf is probably slightly firmer when there's no air in it, so if you got a puncture, you'd probably have a slightly better sleep on the Black Wolf.

The Black Wolf Mega Deluxe Camp Mats do tend to taper off a little bit at the edges, this does cause a bit of a lip when you put two mats together. Generally speaking, they are great for two people to join two together but they're maybe not great for cuddling your partner as you'll find yourself lying in the crevice.

Black Wolf have recently upgraded their valves to make them a one-way valve, only ever letting air in or air out. It might be worth double checking that the second layer of the valve is around the right way to allow the air to come into the mat.

If the valve is on the right way and it's inflating a little but not a lot, then I'd suggest giving it a few blows with your mouth to help get the air flowing.

Black Wolf call if a Lifetime Warranty Yvonne, but there are always some limitations which is why we often add the word 'limited' to the warranty on products claiming a lifetime warranty.

Even in Black Wolf's Warranty terms, they claim it to be a limited warranty. Long story short, a Lifetime or Limited Lifetime Warranty is limited to only covering manufacturing defects for the life of the product.

If a product is just worn out or has been damaged through misuse, it won't be covered by this warranty. You can read all the limitations in the link above. I hope that makes sense.

This mat is not designed to be used with a 12V pump, so it's not something we would recommend, as you don't want to overinflate the mat and cause damage. The Mega Deluxe comes with a bag, so you can use that to top it up if you need some extra air.

This camp mat has an r-value ( a measure of thermal resistance) of 9.5 which is really quite high so you shouldn't need anything extra for insulation.

I know it can be hard to navigate all the different kinds of mats and airbeds when you're new to camping, so I'll try not to confuse you!

In terms of using it with the stretcher dimensions you’ve given - the All Terrain 900 is 195L x 90W so it will hang over a bit on both those stretcher sizes. All three of these mats are going to overhang on a stretcher that’s 65W x 190L, but they should all be fine to use in an Overlander 4P tent.

I would say that the most comfortable mat in our range is the Exped Megamat, followed closely by the Mega Deluxe from Black Wolf. The Darche is thinner and will provide less insulation and warmth in comparison to the Megamat and Mega Deluxe – so it’s definitely going to be a step down in terms of comfort, as it sits in the middle of the range.

I would say that if comfort is a priority, choose between the Mega Deluxe and the Megamat.

From feeling those two in store, the main difference is that the Megamat is even all the way to the edges - so it feels more like an ordinary mattress, whereas the Black Wolf tapers at the edge. The Megamat also feels slightly softer – so I would say that would be the winner for comfort and quality.

I've just checked this for you, and the Black Wolf Mega Deluxe Camp Mat doesn't come with a strap. However, it does come with a carry bag rolled up inside the mat which you can use to keep it rolled up when not in use.

I've just checked this against the display model we have instore, and the Black Wolf catalogue and you are right - there is only one valve on the Mega Deluxe Camp Mat. 

We must have missed that when we updated the product, so I do apologise - I hope this hasn't inconvenienced you too much.

I haven't had anyone report this sort of problem before Prue. It may be that it needs a little lubricant to make it easier to tighten, a small dab of Vaseline should do the trick. If this doesn't help, then give us a call so we can find out some more details of the issues you're having.

These are good for warm weather too Joanne, they will insulate from warm ground as well as cold. An air mattress will always be colder to sleep on as it does not retain your body warmth in the mat, but the self inflating mats certainly don't make you hot, they just minimize heat or cold transfer through the mat, it's what you have over the top of you that will make the difference here.

It takes a little longer Jonty simply due to the larger amount of air required, but there's not much difference. As for comfort, they both offer the same padding and insulation, if you want lots of space to spread out then a double is going to offer more comfort, and given you have the space in your swag you might as well fill it up!

Hi Cameron, yes you can roll this mat up in your swag. However as the Black Wolf mats have 2 way valves for inflation/deflation, you would need to open the valves, roll up the swag and then reach back in to close the valves again, otherwise it will reinflate inside your rolled swag, The Exped Megamat is a better option inside the swag as it has separate valves for inflation and deflation, so once you've opened the deflate valve you can roll the swag up and the valve does not need to be closed. Keep in mind that any self inflating mat should be stored flat when not in use for extended periods of time, otherwise the foam will compress and will not inflate properly - it would need to be pumped up by hand if you wanted to use it straight away after being rolled up for a long time.

Dagne, we used to sell the Turbo Bed but that was discontinued by Black Wolf sometime last year and we no longer have any stock. The Mega Deluxe Mat is about 7cm wider than the Turbo bed, so it would not be a great fit. It would be better to have a stretcher that is slightly larger than the mat, so that it sits on there nicely, and the Oztent King Goanna stretcher would do the job nicely.

Just warm soapy water Charles, I don't recommend dousing it in any harsh chemicals as this could affect the materials. There are cleaners on the market from brands like Nikwax that are also suitable.
