The MSR Elixir 2 Hiking and Backpacking Tent comes complete with everything you need for the full gamut of freestanding pitching options.
The included footprint enables setup with or without the fly or as an ultralight single skin shelter for fast and light adventures. Two large StayDry™ entrances and vestibules with built-in rain gutters team up with a roomy interior that offers true space for two people.
A tent inner comprising of 40D ripstop nylon and 20D nylon micromesh not only provides exceptional ventilation but enables stargazing when the fly is removed on warm nights through a star-shaped mesh ceiling.
Easily pitched with colour coded poles, clips and webbing, the Elixir 2 Hiking Tent offers versatility for any adventure in just about any climate.
This tent is great. It’s light enough for hiking and perfect for camping in general! It was a breeze to set up for the first time. The bag it comes in is quite large and doesn’t have compression straps on it, so I’ve found if I’m hiking, to use that extra space for other gear works well.
I’m yet to test the weatherproofing but for high wind at least it held really well with no issues.
Would definitely recommend this tent!
Used on a hiking trip, was easy to set up, with colour coded clips, had a small footprint, and was rather surprising to find the amount of space inside, sleeping 2 adults without being cramped. Ventilation was no issue, though a small amount of condensation accumulated, which dried once aired.
Well built, robust considering its designed to be light weight. Would i buy this again at this price.? Yes.
Great tent. Lots of room. No regrets.
What is the setup for the minimum weight for this tent?
From my understanding with MSR, the minimum weight is if you were to remove the inner tent and just use the fly.
What warrant comes with this tent?
MSR Tents come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty which is valid for 3 years from purchase. To read more about the details of this warranty, check out MSR's Warranty Page here.
Hi. Is it possible to setup the fly first then the mesh body? I ask this becausr of the chance it might be raining and i dont want the inside of the tent wet.
Using the included footprint with the MSR Elixir 2 Hiking Tent, you are able to set the poles and outer fly up first before then setting up the inner tent.
