The Outdoor Connection Weekender, as its name suggests, is the perfect tent for the weekend warrior.
The ‘Hornet Pole System’ maximises internal space with mildly sloping ends and almost vertical walls culminating in 2.05 metres of headspace. The front external door on the fly can be pegged out as a peaked awning with the included adjustable poles, creating more living space that can be semi-enclosed with optional side walls.
Adequately ventilation is provided by two large windows with ‘Zip-Up’ privacy screens. Mesh and solid panels feature on the front and rear internal doors, and the rear external door in the fly features eyelets enabling it to be pegged out as an awning.
Outdoor Connection has not stopped here with practical features, extras such as internal organiser pockets, two power cord access points, door locks and integrated zippered guy rope pockets make the Weekender a practical and versatile tent for simple family getaways.
I bought the Outdoor Connection months ago for an upcoming family holiday on the Surf Coast, Victoria. The tent was for a family of 4, 2 adults, a 5 year old and an 18 month old. My wife and I had been camping once around 8 years ago before the kids but not since then. I have to say, setting up the tent was quite easy. We did set it up at home first to give us an idea which is highly recommended, but we managed to stay married after putting it up which says alot! Setting up the frame/inner fly took around 5-10 minutes but setting up the fly was probably another 20 to 30 minutes just to peg it all out correctly with all the guy lines. It is much easier with two people although could probably do with 1. We purchased the additional side walls and awning poles for the sidewalls in case I waned to set up an extended wide awning. We had 30kn southerlines along the coast and a bit of rain, the tent handled both like a champ. The quality of the tent is excellent! Top notch! One thing I was worried about was the room inside. We had the 4 of us inside along with quite a few duffel bags and items, clothes, etc and it didn't feel crowded. The tall (almost vertical) side walls make it feel very spacious. There are vents at the very bottom which are head height when sleeping which circulates air to keep you cool. One of the main features which I bought this tent. They've really thought about the design. We purchased the additional side walls and after getting a bit of rain the first night I put the walls up the next morning and the following night we got a light shower but my baby's toys were bone dry. I am honestly wrapped with the tent and reckon it's the best money I've spent on family enjoyment. If you do purchase the side walls are a must. Snowys service was also fantastic - These guys know how to run a proper business and put the customer first. I'm glad I paid a bit more to get a tent designed by Aussies for Aussies. I don't normally write reviews but after using this, I felt compelled
I strongly recommend Snowys for price, service, delivery and product quality
Just purchased the tent but haven't used it yet (will review once I do, very keen) and wondering if it comes with the guy ropes or do I need to purchase?
Hi Jay! Yes, your tent will include the necessary guy ropes.
Just wondering if it's spacious enough for two people and the Coleman High Queen Airbed?
How long would it take for an inexperienced person to set up? Is it a good size for 3-4 people or is it too big?
