I love my new Tent

Used this tent for the first time at a festival where the winds were so extreme our old kmart tent a friend was using completely blew over and got caught in some trees and next to it was this beauty sturdy and strong... it withstood the wind so well. I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely buy from Snowys again they were quick easy and had no issues. It is a cosy size for me and my partner fits our double mattress without issues.

Great during the day but cold at night

I stayed dry over three days of rain including winds and a thunderstorm and the tent felt sturdy enough the whole time. I loved the side doors and the ventilation options for the daytime - the tent was actually comfortable with a breeze on a hot day. However, because the ventilation is so good it gets very cold at night. If you sleep cold, you probably would want a tent with less mesh.

Stands up well in the wind

I camped in this tent over the weekend at Murray Bridge in extreme wind and it didnt budge. While a LOT of otherother tents came down this stood up strong with no issues at all. Highly recommended for short trips away.

Love this tent

Quick to set up, compact and easy to take down. There was plenty of room for two adults inside and the front area was good storage for our gear and chairs overnight. Was a little cold and wet when I used it but we were dry and comfortable (gear stayed dry too)

Great for two adults

This tent is very easy to put up and has quality finishes. I've had complete confidence when sleeping in the rain and woken up bones dry. The fly is designed to role up in many places allowing ventilation from any direction. Great buy!

We love this tent!

We used this for a camping trip in Central Australia during summer. It slept two comfortably and fit our queen aerobed - just! The ventilation was excellent and we used it a few times without the fly. The space near the entrance to store shoes, esky etc was handy. The tent is easy to put up and pack down. We didn't bother with the guy ropes most nights. It held up to rain and wind well too. Love the sky windows! Great quality from Black Wolf and excellent service from Snowys.

Great tent

After much deliberation I bought this tent.. and it's great. If you're looking for a tent that's light enough to put in your plane luggage, easy to put up and pack down, and spacious inside.. then this is a great tent. I'm even contemplating investing in a second one.

Excellent Tent

We bought this tent as a second tent for family or friends that came to stay with us while we were camping. I have been really impressed with its quality and size. Would highly recommend!

Happy camper

Have only had a chance to use our new Tanami Delta 3 on one trip, but it held up really well in all sorts of conditions: very hot, heavy rain, and decent winds. It's roomy for two people plus gear, and the annex is usefully big and pretty weatherproof. The side entrances are really handy and the tent is quick and easy to put up and take down. It even fits back in the bag easily and has lots of nice little features that are a definite step up from my last 3-person tent. Very happy with it!

Quality - Mint - Awesome - Roomy

As a young lad keen to get into camping i was looking for an affordable, yet quality tent. I had done many camping trips before in 2-3 man dome tents and they all lacked that extra bit of storage for bags that was needed. This tent however was perfect. The extension beyond the main compartment enabled plenty of room for sleeping. Sturdy, spacious and plenty of ventilation were the impressions i got from my first time use of the tent. i highly recommend this quality tent.

Fit 2 x Oztrail king single1 answer

Hi We have 2 x oz trail king single mattresses, each 193 cm long by 80 cm wide. Do you think we will get them side by side in the Delta 3? The floodplain dimensions suggest we should be able to....

- Cumberland Park(1 month ago)

G'day Jim,

I've just taken my trusty tape measure to the floor of our display model of the Black Wolf Tanami Delta 3 Tent. You will be able to fit your two mattresses in but they'd need to be right next to each other and would still go right to the edge on all 4 sides, you wouldn't have room for any bags etc. in the tent with you. It might be worth your while looking at the Black Wolf Tanami Delta 4 Tent.

Hiking tent1 answer

The features on this tent are what I'm looking for but I was hoping that it would be packable for an overnight hiking trip. At 5.5kg though it's on the heavy side for us. What could you recommend that's similar in features and quality, but is light enough to carry in a backpack, say no more 2.5kg all up? Thanks!

- Melbourne (5 months ago)

G'day Roger,

Great question - unfortunately, there's nothing that specifically fits your request.

The Tanami is a camping tent, what you ultimately need is a hiking tent.

The MSR Mutha Hubba available here is far better quality and the weight is where you'd like it to be, but potentially lacking in a few features. The cost is also much more significant.

You could also consider the Zempire Trilogy available here which is similar quality, but again, not as many features and the weight 1kg more than what you're looking for.

If you'd like to chat through these or other options further, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 1300 914 007.

Can this tent be easily erected by one person?1 answer

I have a large family tent but need a smaller one for solo camping trips.

- Coburg(7 months ago)

G'day Lucy,

It sure can be pitched by one person! In fact take a look at our video of Mandy, one of the Black Wolf staff, doing a pitching demonstration on our You Tube channel here (

How long do you think it would take to put up?1 answer

I am a single Mum looking to go camping with my 1 year old. I am looking at this Tanami Delta 3 or a pop-up tent. Criteria being I need to be able to erect tent by myself, without it taking too long with baby watching on. Other requirements I want to be able to fit her Baby Bjorn portacot (82 x 112 x 64 assembled) in tent, plus a single self-inflating mat for me such as Black Wolf Mega Deluxe (198 x 77). We are both fair-skinned so a vestible or awning providing some sun protection is also desirable. And ideally not too heavy / large as I will be carrying her as well as tent.

- Melbourne(1 year ago)

Hi Emma,

Unfortunately I don't think the Tanami Delta 3 will work for your situation because of the Portacot. While technically the cot and Mega Deluxe mat would fit side-by-side in the tent, we have to consider the height of the cot and the slope of the tent walls, and it won't work.

You'll have the same problem with our pop up tents. What you need is a tent with more head height! A couple of options to consider are the Coleman Instant Up 4P tent of the Mannagum Glenelg 4V.

Have a look at those and see what you think! Please feel free to give us a call on 1300 914 007, we can run through some of the options in more detail. I'm sure we'll be able to find the perfect tent for you!

Comparison with Coleman Overlander 4P Dome Tent1 answer

I am considering buying a tent for my son's 16th birthday, which will be able to last him for quite a while. How would you compare this to the Coleman Overlander 4P? Is there a difference in quality? I can see that the Coleman is twice the weight but we normally throw the tent into the 4wd so that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

- Adelaide(1 year ago)
Hey Darren, thanks for the question. When making a decision between models, the Black Wolf Tanami 4 would be more comparable to the Coleman Overlander 4 in terms of size. The quality and build of the Overlander and the Tanami are on par. And both models are more than adequate for Aussie weather conditions. We’ve had good feedback from both so I can’t recommend one over the other in terms of quality and durability. But if I had to pick one over the other, the Coleman at its current price is a steal so that might be the best way to go. What tent do you recommend for rain dew and wind 3-4 person

- EMERALD, QLD(1 year ago)
G'day Bill - That's a great, but very broad question. Almost every tent will handle a bit of rain / dew and wind. And we have many that suit 3-4 people. I'd need to know a little bit more about your needs to make recommendations. Your best bet is to give us a quick call on 1300 914 007, we'll ask you things like where you'll be travelling, how often will you be setting the tent up (e.g. you may set it up once and stay in one spot for a week, or you might be putting it up and taking it down every day), your budget... And we can make some recommendations from there. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul
- Snowys(1 year ago)

Hi Paul We will be traveling in a 4wd putting up the tent and staying 4-5 days just for sleeping in with a double mattress 2 people with plenty room (3-4person) Stay dry warm and secure(wind).

- EMERALD, QLD(1 year ago)
G'day Bill - A tent like the Tanami will certainly suit, but just be aware it's out of stock at the moment. ETA is in red under the price. Alternatively consider the Coleman Overlander 4P Dome Tent and Coleman Instant Up 4P Tent (#34675 and #38311), and the Coleman Lakeside 6 Geodesic Tent (#43238). Pop these numbers in the search box at the top of the page to view them. For easy of setup, my recommendation will be with the Instant Up 4P. Also consider the Instant Up 4P Gold, which is a hotted up version - more durable, more awning space, more waterproof. :) Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

Is this a 4 season tent?1 answer

I'm looking for a tent I can take with me when I go 4WD with my friends, and I need something that will work well in all conditions. Is it possible with this tent?

- Craigieburn (1 year ago)
It's a 2 - 3 season tent Jessica, and would be perfect for your 4wd adventures. Tent ratings can be misleading, 4 season actually means it is best suited for very cold and/or windy conditions (think alpine), but are hot and have less ventilation in warm climates. In a nutshell a 4 season tent is best suited for 1 season. For travels around Australia a 2 - 3 season tent is ideal. The Tanami Delta will stand up well in wind, keep you dry in wet weather and provide great ventilation when it's warm. It's also compact for easy transport. Don't hesitate to call us on 1300 914 007 if you want to talk to one of our team about the best tent for you, make sure you mention this enquiry if you do call.

can this be used without pegs indoors?1 answer

- ELANORA HEIGHTS, NSW(2 years ago)
The inner would be fine indoors without pegs David, but the flysheet would need some weights/attachments to keep it in place. I guess if you're using it indoors you don't need the flysheet anyway!
