The Coleman Sundome 6P Dome Tent is ideal for small families camping in warm or tropical climates.
Combining a ‘half-flysheet’ with large weather protected mesh panels and a floor level vent creates outstanding ventilation, whilst the door and rear window are weather protected by peaks in the flysheet.
Storage pockets inside keep gear organised whilst a heavy-duty PE floor ensures your sleeping space stays moisture free. Easily set up with Instaclip pole attachments and snag-free continuous pole sleeves, the Coleman Sundome 6P is a great value tent for compact family camping.
I took myself and two kids (12 and 9 yrs) away for the weekend - two nights in October with relatively mild weather (25° during the day and down to 9° overnight). The tent is very well ventilated, in cheap sleeping bags and blankets we were fine during the night, and didn’t heat up uncomfortably during the day. With the Sundower 6P we fit a Spinifex double high queen airbed in there, which filled about 1/2 to 2/3 of the space, leaving plenty of room for everything else we brought. You could fit two queen matresses in there, but there wouldn’t be room for any luggage. In terms of headroom, I’m not overly tall (162cm) so the tent’s headroom of 180cm is perfect, especially with a standard sized lantern hanging from the roof. The shape of the tent also means a shorty like me has good headroom almost anywhere inside. We sent the tent up by lantern light in the dark, which took about 15 mins. I imagine it would be about a 10 min job in daylight. It’s dead simple to set up – two fibreglass poles for the tent and one for the fly – but you’ll want a second person to help lift the centre up while you peg the poles down. The size of the 6P just makes it too awkward to lift the centre on your own. Take down was also very simple and also took about 12-15 mins. Everything fit back in the carry case quite well. The tent is made from a fairly standard 68D polyester. With privacy screens over the door and rear window and with the fly on things are kept relatively private inside – we could barely make out shadows moving inside. I also like the colouring of the fabrics – the blue and grey lend a more calming feel inside the tent than the oranges and reds. Overall, the Sundome 6P is a stylish-looking, easy to set up/take down and spacious tent that is well-design for a West Australian spring/summer. For 3-4 people with luggage, it’s perfect and at the price is a highly recommended option.
Fantastic review, Seth! Thanks so much for sharing. Laine :)
Brought this tent to do backyard camps with the kiddies ~ we love it! Easy to set up and pack down and we enjoyed sleeping with the cover off and stargazing as we went to sleep.
amazing tent, rained really hard, all night. i was really worried but no need it kept us all dry. camped in august in in nsw not cold at all.
I bought this for trips where a smaller tent was required. This tent easily fits our family of 6 with two queen size self inflating mattresses side by side plus we have room to store our gear at the bottom of the beds. For adults or older kids I think this tent would sleep 4 comfortably.
The set up was extremely quick and easy, I set it up with myself and my 8 and 6 year olds.
The price was fantastic and the fast delivery was great.
Fast delivery from the Snowy’s folks, easy to erect in 5-6 mins with help from my son. Stayed up all night despite really windy conditions, a few other families were not so lucky. Well made, good vents and ideal for three adults plus kit or a couple of adults and a couple of kids plus kit. Easy to pack away and all in all the perfect overnighter.
excellent tent. well made. excellent price with free delivery. great car camping tent.
Snowys - great service

I didn't need the rain cover because the weather was glorious. I had a great view of the night sky enjoying the satellites and meteors before drifting off to sleep.
Quick to set up and roomy!!
This tent is easy to put up & great value. Very happy!
We intend using tent in a week's time. Have put it up as a practice & that was easy. It is very good value & we look forward to enjoying it.
Does it include pegs ?
The Coleman Sundome 6 Person Dome Tent comes with all the pegs you need to erect the tent with the guy ropes pegged in too.
I know it says suits warm and tropical weather, if its waterproof then i am interested.
The Coleman Sundome 6 Person Dome Tent doesn't have a Waterhead rating in Australia. I've found a Waterhead rating of 1000mm overseas but that's not to say it'll be the same here. I would say that it would offer some limited protection from rain but if there was heavy rain, it wouldn't be 100% waterproof, no.
Tasmanian summer . Can get down to 10c
The thing to note with the Coleman Sundome Dome Tent is that it's designed for warm or tropical climates. They aren't designed however to cop large amounts of rain and/or wind.
In regards to temperature, this is more dependant on a well-insulated sleeping mat and warm sleeping bag.

Great question. I'm assuming you're referring to the lights on the guy ropes and if so, I believe what you're looking for is the Coleman Guyline Illuminator Light which is available here.
Hi Is this suitable during rainy or winter whether condition ?
G’day Bosky, the Coleman Sundome 6 Person Dome Tent is ideal for warm or tropical climates. This is because the inner tent has breathable panels for ventilation, and the fly does not cover the entire tent – so it’s features focus on cooling you down, not trapping heat. Because of the breathability of this tent, it is probably going to be a bit vulnerable in wintry conditions to both rain and wind
How long does it take to set up the tent - for a first time female camper?
