You can also add extra cover and versatility to your set up using the separately available RV3-Lite Modular Panel System. Light, easy to pitch and reliable – you can spend less time setting up and more time unwinding on your next getaway with the RV-3 Lite Tent from Oztent.
What are the poles in the first photo to make the awning peaked. Do you sell them here?
G'day Ian,
Those poles are slightly greyed out as they don't come with the RV-3 Lite itself, but they're part of the RV-3 Lite Modular Panel Set.
Hope that helps!
Hey would just like to know if this would fit me and my 2 young kids in me in a stretcher, my eldest boy in kids stretcher and my youngest in a porta cot?
G'day Ryan,
It won't I'm afraid, unless you're using narrow camp mattresses on the ground.
Due to the taper of the back wall on the RV-3 Lite tent, your active sleeping space will be reduced to approximately 240 cm wide x 165 cm deep (front door to back wall) at stretcher height, and at portacot height you'll only have just over a meter deep to work with.
A quick google also shows that an average portacot is 80cm wide, and the average adult-sized stretcher is 90cm-100cm depending on the external frame. If you account for the internal tent frame taking up 10cm of sleeping space, that means between your adult stretcher and the portacot, you'll only have about 55cm of space for a 3rd bed option.
If you use the portacot you'd easily be able to fit a double/queen camping mattress in aswell if you and your lad would be happy to share.
Hope that info helps!
Will there be a buildup of Moisture like the RV3? Should the RV3 fly be used to stop the build up ?
G'day Ruben,
Yes, condensation can be a big issue in single skin tents like the RV series, so a fly will definitely help to combat that.

do the side walls on this tent fit a OZ-Tent EYRE E-2
G'day Phil,
No, the RV-3 Lite side walls aren't compatible with the Eyre E-2 Tent.
I've heard that the teton ultra tent is a good waterproof tent but unsure if something like this would be better for 4WD around Aus.
G'day Lauren,
Thanks for getting in touch, I can't say I'm familiar with the Teton Ultra Tents, but a quick google image search for these shows that they're a dome style tent? They'll be a little different than the quick 30-second style frame on the RV3-Lite. I'm not too sure what your needs are, but the Oztent RV3 and RV3-Lite are both popular models for 4WD touring around Aus.
I have the RV-3 & was looking at getting the Tagalong, but then I kinda like this & was wondering if you can connect this to the RV-3.
G'day Mal,
Unfortunately not, the RV-3 Lite Tent is just designed as a stand-alone tent, and has a different zipper configuration that isn't compatible for connections to the Tagalong or another RV series tent.
I've looked at the comparison chart and not sure between the two. If GVM and budget aren't concerns, is the RV-3 a better bet because it's got a PVC floor and the cotton canvas materials? Or does the newer material of the Lite make it a better fit for two people touring?
G'day Ryan,
The RV3 and the RV3 Lite are both great options, with the Lite model a slightly lighter version. The RV3 Canvas is a really popular option with lots of options for accessories. The RV-3 Lite has just the complete modular panel system to enclose the whole front area. Overall we'd happily recommend both models, with the canvas offering great longevity and durability, and the lite offering a lighter weight polyester material to reduce weight. They're both the same size internally so will both suit two people touring.
Hi, can this tent use the Oztent RV tent awning to caravan (sail track) connector? Many thanks?
G'day David,
Unfortunately, you won't be able to use a caravan connector with the RV-3 Lite tent. They've got a different zipper configuration to the RV canvas range so unfortunately won't work with the awning or caravan connectors.
What is water proof rating for rain? Does fly cover rear tent and awning too? Does it fit a double mattress?
G'day Phil,
The waterproof rating on the tent is 1500mm and 2000mm on the floor. As far as we're aware the fly will fit in the same way as the rest of their RV tents and will just cover the rear tent area. The sleeping area is 200 x 240cm so should fit a double mattress with plenty of room to spare.
