The ultimate rooftop tent in the Darche range, you can’t get any more luxurious than the Panorama 1400 RTT with Annex. For those of you who love to stargaze - the zippered sunroof allows you to see straight into the heavens while you drift off, which makes this tent the limousine of rooftop accommodation.
With enough space for a couple or the solo traveller who likes the extra room, the Panorama is super comfortable thanks to the high-density mattress included. The tent is made from durable canvas, with a PVC floor and a PVC tonneau cover so it is built to withstand the harsh touring lifestyle. In warm weather, the tropical fly will help to prevent condensation build-up and give you plenty of fresh air circulating so you don’t get hot and stuffy. You’ll only need a sleeping bag and a pillow as the Panorama comes with a comfortable high-density mattress with a zip-off cotton cover for easy cleaning.
This shelter packs down close to your vehicle so it won’t stick out and drag you down when you’re on the road. The checker plate base, frame lugs and centre pivoting yoke are made from Aluminium and will work together to keep your shelter steady while reducing the overall load. Made especially to withstand the uncompromising Australian climate – the Panorama will see you through many adventures.
It is the basket style roof rack
G'day Hugh,
Generally, you won't be able to fit a rooftop tent to a basket style roof rack, but it's hard to know for sure as we're not roof rack specialists. Best bet will be to head over to the Darche website for fitting information, and by having a chat to your roof rack supplier about compatibility with a rooftop tent.
Can the aluminium mounting channels be attached in either direction on the base? ie, left to right or front to back. I’m concerned about how I spread the weight over my rack. Trying to avoid pin point pressure on 2 slats. Would prefer to spread the weight across 6 slats.
G'day Russell,
The mounting channels need to be attached via the fixed position, pre-drilled holes in the base of the tent.
You'll need to contact a qualified installer or roof rack specialist for more info on mounting this to your particular set up.
That can accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids? How much please?
What is the difference between panorama 1400 and panorama 2?
G'day Angelica,
The Panorama 1400 is the new model, the Panorama 2 was phased out around 18 months ago. They have made a few changes to the weight of the canvas, and improved the tent base and have lowered the overall profile a little.
Hi guys looking at buying a roof top tent and awning and wondering if you will freight both to cairns Queensland 4870 Thank you
Hi other then the small pack down what are other differences between the panorama 2 and the hi-view 2
G'day Gus,
Thanks for getting in touch. Firstly I just wanted to confirm that we're not able to ship rooftops tents so unless you're planning to head through Adelaide or Brisbane we wouldn't be able to get one to you. The Panorama 2 Rooftop Tent Annex (New) has a new Coated Heavy Duty compressed checker plate baseboard and a built-in adjustable trigger lock canopy pole. Apart from that, they are very similar to each other.
