Spacious enough for three, and suitable for use with a camper trailer or wagon – the Hi-View 1800 RTT tent from Darche is the roomy and reliable roof top tent for touring.
This extra wide RTT is constructed from fully seam sealed 260sgm polyester/cotton ripstop canvas for durability on your expeditions, and has an adjustable tropical fly to help prevent condensation. Check out the stars through the zippered stargazing window, keep out insects out while enjoying the views from the large full-width side windows, and get air flow through the built-in air vents. You can stash essentials in the internal storage pockets, and sleep soundly on the 65mm high-density open cell foam mattress which also has a water-resistant cover.
The easy to use alloy telescopic ladder extends for access to the tent, and this RTT has a sturdy internal aluminium frame for structure. If you’re exploring in a wagon or camper trailer and need to house up to 3 people, the Hi-View 1800 from Darche is the ideal rooftop tent.
Large full-width side windows with fine insect mesh
Updated gas strut assisted for easy setup and pack down, coated compressed baseboard, built-in adjustable trigger lock canopy pole, all-weather canopy support pole, and a 25mm webbing pull handle for easy setup
Staff tip:You'll need to confirm the suitability of your vehicle and roof rack to be able to install and use this RTT. Check the transport/carton details above to make sure you have the capacity to transport the packaged product before you pick it up.
Staff tip:We're sorry, but our stores don't have the facilities to install rooftop tents.
Hi snowys, is the darche 1800 slightly wider then the 23 zero 1800
Tim - Nar Nar Goon, VIC (1 month ago)
G'day Tim,
Not by our measurements - they're pretty much bang when comparing their size. Is it the overall external dimensions you're looking at, or the mattress itself?

Fit on a ute tub rack1 answer
Possible to fit the 1800 on a ute tub rack?
Ratu - Charles Darwin, NT (1 year ago)
G'day Ratu,
Yep, you can absolutely install these on a tub rack. The packed dimensions are 180L x 120W, so as long as that fits comfortably in the space you have available, you should be fine.

Insect screens 1 answer
Are the insect screens midge/sandfly proof.
Warwick - Forresters Beach, NSW (1 year ago)
G'day Warwick,
The mesh on the Darche Roof Top Tents is pretty fine. It doesn't have a midge/sandfly proof guarantee - most manufacturers won't state this as they can get in between zip teeth and through stitching, but we have had loads of reviews with Darche RTT being used in QLD and other coastal places without too many issues. Hope that helps.

Fitting a Camper 1 answer
I have an X2 Patriot just wondering if the 1800 rooftop will fit that with the 1.6 meter Annex attached, and will I lose access to the door on the side of the camper or is there is access zipper on the internal wall?
Brad - Largs Bay, SA (2 years ago)
G'day Brad,
I know the Patriot X campers, but no-one here has one or knows them well enough to answer with certainty. I cant see any reason why you couldn't mount this roof top tent on one, and abit of googling shows that other people have. The only issue is the annex, and wether or not it's going to be too tall and saggy. There is an internal zipper, so access through the camper side wall should be any issue. Hope that helps.

Room for bedding?1 answer
Hi, is there room to allow for leaving in sleeping bags/bedding and or pillows?? thanks
Terri - SA(2 years ago)
G'day Terri,
Generally with this style of canvas rooftop tent we wouldn't recommend packing it away with bedding inside. Ultimately the additional bulk will put too much pressure on the overall packed size, and could cause damage to the hinge & locking mechanisms. Generally, you might get away with something like thin woolen blankets, or down sleeping bags/quilts due to how compressible they are, but any pillows or normal sleepings bags/synthetic doonas, etc wouldn't be advised.

Suitable for Prado 150?1 answer
Would this 1800 model fit Prado 2019 model? I am looking for use for 3 ppl family.. (I would figure out something for Geographic distance :) )
Rabs - Sydney, NSW (4 years ago)
G'day Rabs,
Yes, you should find fitting this to a Prado. The main thing you'll need is a set of roof racks to attach the tent to. We'd also suggest confirming with the company you purchase the racks from that the roof load rating of the vehicle can tolerate the racks and the weight of the tent.

Dual Cab1 answer
Hi there, Has a roof top tent of this size been successfully installed onto the canopy of a dual cab Ute? Thank you
Shaun - Gold Coast (5 years ago)
G'day Shaun,
It is possible to install a rooftop tent on to a dual cab ute canopy, however, you would need to have the canopy re-inforced with roll bars to be able to support the additional weight. Most ute canopies have a fairly low weight load rating.

Do you fit these if I pick up in Adelaide ?1 answer
Hi, if I come over from Vic to SAQ do you fit them to my roof bars when I pick up ?
Greg - Ocean Grove(5 years ago)
G'day Greg,
We currently have some stock of the Hi-View 1800 available in SA, however we wouldn't be able to guarantee we still have stock when you arrive unless you place an order via our site for an instore pickup. We don't offer a vehicle fitting service, but we can use the forklift to place the box on your roof racks for you to secure with ratchet straps or similar. You can then fit it yourself, or have it fitted by a professional vehicle fitter somewhere in Adelaide before you head back to Vic.

any chance one could be sent up to brendale for pick up?1 answer
just noticed there is stock in SA but not QLD. wondering if one could be sent up to brendale for pick up?
adam - karana downs(5 years ago)
G'day Adam,
Sorry mate, unfortunately we can't. Darche ship directly to either our Adelaide warehouse or Brisbane warehouse as we are not able to transfer stock of their Rooftop Tents between our stores due to the high risk of damage in transit. We are able to ship the Rooftop Tents from the 23Zero range if any of those are of interest to you..? Cheers

Could I 1 answer
Could I set up myself, being an average size women?
Brooke Maiden - Blue haven (6 years ago)
G'day Brooke,
Yes, you should be able to set up the Darche Hi-View 1800 Rooftop Tent by yourself. Just to clarify, we're not able to deliver these items and they are a special order, so you'd need to be able to pick one up in our SA or Qld store when the stock arrives. It looks like Blue Haven is in NSW, so I'm guessing this might not work for you anyway.
