The dimensions of the main room4 answers
According to the spec, the sleeping area is 230 x 240 cm. But you have answered to the very first question that it is actually 330 x 240. Could you confirm which one is correct?

Thanks Lisa. However I have some doubt ... looking at the picture, based on the proportion the main room seems bigger than the vestibule. If the length of the main room is 230cm, the vestibule would be 300cm long... I am in a bit of hurry to order one but it only suits me if the room is 330 x 240. Would you mind to double check the dimensions? Thanks.

I can totally see where the confusion is - this tent was also confusing for us too!
Our floor plan was based on Coleman's specs but on looking at the tent in person, the shape of it is deceptive as both ends taper off which reduces the amount of sleeping space inside the tent.
The vestibule measures 180cm long and 230cm wide, while the sleeping area in the main room is 240cm long, while the tapered end section measures 80cm.Â
The reason we don't include the end part of the room in the sleeping area dimensions is because it is not enough space to fit a mat, or person to use.Â
We've carefully measured the display mode and updated the floor plan so it should be very accurate now.

Coleman Quickbeds1 answer
We are looking at getting the Coleman Queen Quickbed and two Colman XL Single Quickbeds. It looks like we could fit the queen in one of the rooms and the two singles in the other vestibule area. Is that correct?

I've just had a look at our display Lakeside 6 Geodesic, and I reckon we might need to update our floor plan as it makes the vestibule look slightly larger than it actually is.Â
If you have a look at the third image linked above, you can get a better idea of the shape and size of the vestibule - as it isn't a square, you you will just be able to squeeze a XL Single Quickbed, but two wouldn't fit due to the shape.Â
You will be able to fit a Queen Quickbed in the sleeping area, but you may want to consider smaller camp mats as they are easier to fit in this tent.Â

Does this tent come with everything you need to camp with? Don't need to buy anything else to set it up? Pegs, fly bare etc

The tent comes with everything you need to get started Marlena, although I would recommend that you purchase a tarp to go under the tent to protect the floor. All pegs and guy ropes are included, although if you’re likely to go camping somewhere that the ground is quite hard you may like to purchase some more heavy duty pegs to make life easier.Â

What size of air bed can be used to fit a family of 4?1 answer
Hi Snowys I am planning to buy 2 double airbeds to use in the main room of this Tend. Could you confirm 2 double airbeds can fit properly? Otherwise, could you advice best airbeds to use inside the Tent and can accommodate a family of 4?

G’day Pedro,
The Coleman Lakeside 6 has a sleeping area that’s 240L x 230W so you won’t be able to fit two double airbeds (or double mats in general).
You may have to consider single self-inflating mats such the Explore Planet Earth Sim Camper F100 which are 200L x 66W cm.
We’d recommend considering using the vestibule as a sleeping area as well, as you may struggle with four singles in the sleeping area. Â

Hi Sue, there are storage pockets in the vestibule area, the main room does not have storage pockets but it does have a gear hammock on the roof which would be suitable for small, lightweight items. Hope this helps.

G'day Emily - Setup instructions for this tent are pretty few and far between, other than the instruction sheet. We actually have one set up in the shop now and I see you're located pretty near. Best bet is to pop in some day and have a look at the 'one we prepared earlier' and take some photos. It's such a popular tent, so we could look at filming a set up video soon. Cheers, Paul

There is Janelle, there are three entrances to the front vestibule which feature a mesh door in the interior tent, then the flysheet door over this for weather protection. The rear door to the sleeping area features both mesh and privacy panels in the interior tent, then an entrance through the flysheet for weather protection.

G'day Novi - That's a really good question. The fly windows can only open from the outside of course. However, as we don't have one set up in the store, I'm not 100% on what the inner windows are like - whether it's just inbuilt mesh that doesn't open at all, or two layers. I have contacted the supplier and he'll find out and get back to me. As for the doors - yes, they can be opened from the inside or outside. As soon as I know about the windows, I'll let you know. G'day again Novi - Coleman have come back to me and said: "Definitely double layer of mesh (both inner and fly) but no privacy flap on the inner tent. If you want to close the window you need to close the outer window flap on the fly." Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

Thanks so much! Which one is correct about the overall weight? I found in Coleman Australia site, this tent weighs 26.1kg (!), but here weighs just 18kg ?

G'day Louise - We haven't got one set up in the store, so I'm not sure first-hand how easy it would be to set up solo. However, I've read over some of the reviews (see the next tab to the left) and a few mention setting it up with someone else, but one reviewer says it would be possible to do it by yourself but it mightn't be the easiest thing to do. If it's only you and the kids, they might be able to help by at least holding a pole in on one side as you attempt to clip it into place on the other. Setting up a tent with the little ones can be a fun and education (or stressful!) experience! :) Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

Explain the water head rating. This tent has 2000mm water head rating, is that sufficient for heavy down pours?

Waterhead rating is a measure of pressure fabric can withstand before water penetrates through the material. To keep things simple, 1500 mm is waterproof and enough for just about any rain event, most lightweight hiking tents are rated at 1500 mm. Anything above that is a bonus. 2000 mm is therefore more than enough for this tent, if the fabric starts leaking then you've likely got bigger concerns than water in this tent... you probably want to pack things up and hightail it out of there!

How long does this tent take to put up?1 answer
Hi we are two people just wondering how long this tent takes to set up and how difficult it is (ie tension of poles etc)? We would be looking to take short weekend trips so are looking for something relatively easy to set up and put down.

G'day Michelle. It's not overly difficult to put up, but will take around half an hour for the two of you to achieve. I wouldn’t recommend this tent for a trip with mainly overnight stops, but if you’re staying in the one place for a few days then this one is a great option.

1. Does this tent have mosquito nets on all doors & windows? 2. Is it cool in summer - ie. plenty of ventilation? 3. Is it easy for one person to erect? How long? 4. Is freight free? If not how much to Lane Cove in Sydney, or is there local pick up in Sydney? 5. What window is at the far end , not seen in pic? 6. Does it have flooring throughout to prevent bull ants getting in?

Hi Don, thanks for asking.
There is mesh on all doors and windows, so you can open everything up without and bugs getting in. With all doors and windows open you will get a good amount of ventilation so it is good for summer camping.
I would recommend 2 people to erect this tent. While I've never put this one up personally, the tent I own is an almost identical design and it takes two of us around half an hour to erect. It would be difficult to do so alone.
Delivery is free to most of Australia, including Sydney.
There is a door at the rear of the tent, as well as a mesh screen as mentioned above.
The tent, including the front vestibule, is fully enclosed with flooring throughout, so you won’t have any creepy crawlies coming to visit (unless you leave the doors/screens open!)

Hi Dahlia, I'm as confused as you are about this one, I came up with 5 different weights after a little research. I weighed the tent in it's box, and it came in at a bit under 19kg. This weight includes an outer cardbboard box, inner cardboard box and all tags. Once all this is removed the tent comes in at about 18kg.

Hi Kylie, I have received details to answer your query. The divider door is a 'double' door, or as Coleman described it, "the door to the inner room" which consists of both a mesh layer and a polyester layer. The front room consists of mesh doors only to the exterior. The room divider is situated 195cm from the front of the tent, and the main room is 330L x 240W inside.
