I would like to know where these oztrails are made please ?
G'day David,
The Oztrail Swags (including the Lachlan) is made in China.
I'll be one-up on a touring motorcycle and can accommodate 90cm width. After use what size will this easily back into and is a pack bag included (if so what are it's dimensions). Many thanks.
G'day Kevin,
Unfortunately, a bag isn't included but you have two King Single options from Oztrail or AOS. The Oztrail bag is a non-waterproof Cotton Canvas bag where as the AOS is a more durable waterproof Polyester Canvas bag.
Packing varies depending on what you plan to keep inside (bedding etc), but the width shouldn't push beyond 90cm. If need be, the AOS bag has a zippered expander to allow you more room to get your swag packed up with everything left inside.
Do the ends have a tub floor too? The pic looks like the canvas goes to the ground at the high end
G'day Matt,
I've just checked with our display stock and the PVC tub floor goes the entire way around the Oztrail Lachlan Swag inclusive of both sides, top and bottom.
Hello, how is the middle pole connected to the swag during set up, is it a pin system or a pocket that holds the ends in place? And is the middle of pole held in place with a pocket or velcro? Thanks :)
G'day Megan,
I've just had a look at the display, and the middle pole is held in place with velcro, and the pole is held in place at the base by a webbing strap that's stitched to the floor which the pole hooks onto if that makes sense.
Can it be set up and placed on a camp stretcher?
G'day Gary,
As long as the weight rating of the stretcher accommodates your weight plus the weight of the swag and is the right size (e.g. not too small) then you can certainly use the Lachlan with a stretcher if that’s your preference.
Hi, Can you tell me the gsm rating on the PVC floor of the Lachlan King single swag? Cheers, Matt tyrrell
G'day Matt,
We're been in touch with Oztrail about your query, and they're waiting to hear back from their manufacturer - so as soon as we hear from them we'll let you know.
Hi Matt,
Just wanting to update you on your inquiry - I've been in contact with the supplier and they still haven't heard back from their manufacturer, so I just wanted to let you know that we haven't forgotten about your query.
Hey Matt,
So I've just heard from Oztrail, and they've confirmed that the PVC on the floor of the Lachlan Swag has a GSM rating of 520.
Would this be suitable for a very tall & big built male??
G'day Sammi,
The Lachlan is a king single sized swag, and while it is bigger than a single swag it's not the widest or longest king single swag that we have.
A model you might want to consider is the Darche Dusk to Dawn 1100. It is a little dearer, but it's 215 cm long, 110 cm wide and has a max head height of 80cm which makes it really roomy. Plus, unlike most swags it comes with a ridge pole and a swag bag included so you won't have to purchase them separately.
Do you stock the Lachlan swag in a double?
G'day Lisa,
Unfortunately we don't stock the Lachlan in a double however we do have the Mitchell Expedition in a double which is a great unit. We also do have the Darche in an 1100Â and 1400 which are very similar in design to the Lachlan, with the low mesh side. See what you think? Cheers!
Does this swag need to be waterproofed before use and if so, how much waterproofing product is required?
Hi Sandy,
The Oztrail Lachlan Deluxe Swag doesn't need to be waterproofed, beacuase the canvas has water and rot proof treatment on it. Eventually after a lot of use you may want to re-waterproof it - but that would be quite far down the line.Â
We would recommend however, seasoning your swag by giving it a hose down and then allowing it dry fully (repeating if necessary). This will help to make the stitching swell which will minimise any miniscule holes made during the stitching process.
the Lachlan King Single has a lower side for more ventilation than the one shown in the photo on the website - thanks :)
Does the swag come with a carry bag ??
