Featuring ultra heavy duty 380gsm SatProof 600+ Ripstop Canvas and a hard wearing vinyl tub floor, the Lachlan swag is guaranteed to provide you with years of weather proof sleeping comfort on the 7cm open cell foam mattress.
Awnings at the head and foot protect adjustable mesh ventilation panels and an external zip at the head end enables entry to the swag. A full length top opening with panoramic door provides easy access to the three pole dome design, while added extras like a boot mat and internal organizer pockets add a little extra comfort.
Used my new Lachlan for the first time on the weekend. Easy to set up, very comfy and roomy. Good ventilation too. I thought the mattress may be a little too soft and that I'd feel the ground but it worked well. Great value and great service from Snowy's!
I am so glad that I bought the Lachlan. Kept me completely dry after a heavy night of rain and was comfortable too. It is a bit bulky, but worth it for the benefits that come with it. Thanks Snowys!
Swag is great - there were some warmer nights and cooler nights on the trip so the flexibility of the swag was great. Snowys was a great price but I rang with a query on delivery and actually found the staff extremely rude -but in the end the swag arrived on time.
Snowy's are great to deal with. Used this on a few 5 Celsius nights. Perhaps not as warm as I expected it to be, and had to go the thermal top, beanie etc, already inside a -5 rated sleeping bag. All other features on this are good, and it looks like it will provide many years of service. Also purchased the ridge pole and used it along with the guy ropes. Helps prevents sagging and a really worthwhile addition.
Snowys excellent to deal with and the swag is just great. Very comfortable and easy to set up.
Service from Snowys was excellent! Swag itself is just as good. Used it over the weekend while camping in different spots, first night was freezing and the canvas cover over the mesh made sure to keep the warmth in, second night was on a beach and was warm, mesh cover kept the bugs and sand out while allowing a nice breeze to cool me down. Stargazing was also a big plus. Would recommend this swag to everybody!
Great product easy set up and good water resistance.
Snowys great customer service and support.
To be picky the centre hoop set up with the fixing points are a little light on with little Velcro for fixing the hoop and protection for wear on the floors fixing point .
Great service from Snowys - queries answered promptly and the swags arrived in record time to Alice Springs.
This swag is easy to assemble and perfect to get a bit of a cooler night time breeze and keeping the bugs at bay!! Comfy mattress and spot to land when you're rolling in and out - bonus.
Zip is a little tight going over the seam area of the middle rail, but that will loosen up with a few more uses :)
I would like to know where these oztrails are made please ?
The Oztrail Swags (including the Lachlan) is made in China.
I'll be one-up on a touring motorcycle and can accommodate 90cm width. After use what size will this easily back into and is a pack bag included (if so what are it's dimensions). Many thanks.
Unfortunately, a bag isn't included but you have two King Single options from Oztrail or AOS. The Oztrail bag is a non-waterproof Cotton Canvas bag where as the AOS is a more durable waterproof Polyester Canvas bag.
Packing varies depending on what you plan to keep inside (bedding etc), but the width shouldn't push beyond 90cm. If need be, the AOS bag has a zippered expander to allow you more room to get your swag packed up with everything left inside.
Do the ends have a tub floor too? The pic looks like the canvas goes to the ground at the high end
I've just checked with our display stock and the PVC tub floor goes the entire way around the Oztrail Lachlan Swag inclusive of both sides, top and bottom.
Hello, how is the middle pole connected to the swag during set up, is it a pin system or a pocket that holds the ends in place? And is the middle of pole held in place with a pocket or velcro? Thanks :)
I've just had a look at the display, and the middle pole is held in place with velcro, and the pole is held in place at the base by a webbing strap that's stitched to the floor which the pole hooks onto if that makes sense.
Can it be set up and placed on a camp stretcher?
As long as the weight rating of the stretcher accommodates your weight plus the weight of the swag and is the right size (e.g. not too small) then you can certainly use the Lachlan with a stretcher if that’s your preference.
Hi, Can you tell me the gsm rating on the PVC floor of the Lachlan King single swag? Cheers, Matt tyrrell
We're been in touch with Oztrail about your query, and they're waiting to hear back from their manufacturer - so as soon as we hear from them we'll let you know.
Just wanting to update you on your inquiry - I've been in contact with the supplier and they still haven't heard back from their manufacturer, so I just wanted to let you know that we haven't forgotten about your query.
So I've just heard from Oztrail, and they've confirmed that the PVC on the floor of the Lachlan Swag has a GSM rating of 520.
Would this be suitable for a very tall & big built male??
The Lachlan is a king single sized swag, and while it is bigger than a single swag it's not the widest or longest king single swag that we have.
A model you might want to consider is the Darche Dusk to Dawn 1100. It is a little dearer, but it's 215 cm long, 110 cm wide and has a max head height of 80cm which makes it really roomy. Plus, unlike most swags it comes with a ridge pole and a swag bag included so you won't have to purchase them separately.
Do you stock the Lachlan swag in a double?
Unfortunately we don't stock the Lachlan in a double however we do have the Mitchell Expedition in a double which is a great unit. We also do have the Darche in an 1100 and 1400 which are very similar in design to the Lachlan, with the low mesh side. See what you think? Cheers!
Does this swag need to be waterproofed before use and if so, how much waterproofing product is required?
The Oztrail Lachlan Deluxe Swag doesn't need to be waterproofed, beacuase the canvas has water and rot proof treatment on it. Eventually after a lot of use you may want to re-waterproof it - but that would be quite far down the line.
We would recommend however, seasoning your swag by giving it a hose down and then allowing it dry fully (repeating if necessary). This will help to make the stitching swell which will minimise any miniscule holes made during the stitching process.
the Lachlan King Single has a lower side for more ventilation than the one shown in the photo on the website - thanks :)
Does the swag come with a carry bag ??
