Good swag - but could be better

The swag itself is great. Seems to be well made.
The included instructions was very vague and very little info about seasoning the canvas before use.

The included mattress is average to poor. It's only 50mm and not overly comfortable on uneven/rocky ground. I've subsequently added another 50mm egg crate topper to it (fits in the mattress cover also). This helps a lot.

Midge proof?1 answer

I've read a lot of conflicting opinions on whether Darche swags are actually midge/sand-fly proof. I know all swags are vulnerable to some extent, but are Darche better/worse than most?

G'day Sam,

Great question. Darche midge/sand-fly proof mesh is no worse than many other brands of the same price/quality. However, as you've noted, there is an element of vulnerability which is ultimately dependant on situation and environment.

how thick would the matras be?1 answer

I am a scout and I want a quick and simple swag to set up, does this take long to set up you think?

- Ingham(5 months ago)

G'day Joshua,

The Darche Dusk To Dawn Swag 1100 mattress is 5cm thick and takes around 5 minutes to unroll and set up.

What weather conditions does this swag suit best in, hot cold wet dry?1 answer

Because I am a scout who camps in many different conditions. And I am looking at this swag.

G’day Cameron, if you’re looking for a high quality all-rounder swag that will suit 2-3 season weather then the Darche Dusk To Dawn is a good pick because it's spacious, well ventilated, and has good water protection. Like with any swag, there are always limitations especially in extreme weather so just bear that in mind.
