With space for two queen airbeds, the Coleman Instant Up 6P is popular amongst small families with limited vehicle capacity for touring.

Easily set-up in 2 minutes, the Instant Up 6P has an integrated steel pole structure that stays attached to the tent inner and quickly folds out and locks into place when setting up, then all you need to do is throw the flysheet over the top and peg the tent out.

Spreader bars1 answer

Hi bought two of these tents from you a few months ago (Shane Parnell ordered them ) just woundering if it would be a good idea to use aluminium spreader bar on front of their awnings if so do you sell these both ends with holes for upright bar spike to fit through thanks looking forward to a trip up the West Coast in afew weeks time

I can't see any reason why you couldn't use them David. The only thing missing is velcro attachment points along the edge of the awning to attach it to the spreader pole. However, if you tighten the front of the awning by using tension in the spreader pole it may create a better edge.

Hi Amelia, the tent inner is a also polyester, but it does not offer the waterproof properties that the fly sheet does, and the floor of the tent is Polyethylene (PE) which is a tarp like material. The doors and windows all feature privacy and mesh panels. I hope this answers your question.

Hi Ali, The 6p Coleman Instant Up is a waterproof tent with a 1,500mm waterhead rating. The floor is also waterproof, being made from a heavy duty polyester material. Coleman don't provide a rating for their floors, though they are a welded floor, making them stronger and eliminating needle holes. These tents will weather most camping trips nicely. If you're still concerned are going to be using your tent in really rough conditions, I'd recommend looking at the Coleman 6p Instant up Gold tent. It has double the waterhead rating at 3,000mm and has a PVC floor instead.

Lowest height1 answer

Hi, I understand the maximum height at the apex is 190 cm but can you please tell me how high the ceiling is at the lowest points (where the ceiling meets the walls)? Thanks!

Hi Gaby, door height is about 160 cm, and the point at which the walls become the ceiling on the inside of the tent is about 165 cm. It's hard to get an exact figure as there are a number of points it could be measured to, but this is a good indication.

What are the advantsges of the Gold 6P over the normal 6P1 answer

Ease of erecting? Effect of winds? HEAVEY RAIN? Anythingelse?

The Gold versions of the Instant up range utilise a tougher material and a higher waterproof rating. The warranty is also extended for the Gold range to two years, taking into account the longevity of more robust fabrics however, thicker materials do add weight. In terms of features, the Gold versions also include a side awning and a welcome mat.

G'day Vikki, Sounds like you've done your research! That is one of the best (and cheapest) ways to protect your tent. If you don't already have a tarp lying around the house, I'd suggest just going for a standard tarp (10x12ft) which is $19.95. Hope this helps!

Is the b4 P easier to erect than the 6P1 answer

I am older and need to know if the 4P is smaller and thereforeb easier to move and erect. Thank you

Hi Alex, the 4P will be a little easier than the 6P simply because there is a little less tent to wrangle with. The 6P weighs around 2kg more, but the height and pole structure are the same for both models, and the same procedure is followed for pitching both tents. The 4P is a roomy tent for 2, but if you want plenty of space I don't think you will find the 6P difficult to handle.

Hi there? I had similar model of Coleman American model. It did come with full fly and it is weak in strong wind? can it stand in strong wind?

Hi Munkh-Ochir. Whilst the Coleman Instant Up range are great tents, they are not the best when it comes to strong winds. You would be better considering something made of stronger materials such as the Black Wolf Turbo or RV tents from Oztent. When set up correctly these perform well in bad weather. The other alternative is a low profile hiking tent, but these will not offer the living space of the abpve mentioned tents.
