A big tent for roomy campgrounds, the Outdoor Connection Galaxy Family Dome Tent features three large rooms and a hybrid steel/ fibreglass pole system that creates strength and stability whilst maintaining internal space.
With sleeping room for up to 15 people, the Galaxy provides enough space in each room to comfortably fit a queen mattress plus space to move. Internal dividers and internal window and door covers provide privacy while four doors enable independent access to each room from the outside and combine with no-see-um mesh windows on the inner for superior ventilation.
Four adjustable awning poles are supplied for use in any combination of external door covers to create a shade awning or one extra-long verandah along the sides. Add extra poles and you can have shade all around the Galaxy Dome.
Finished off with door locks, three power cord access points, numerous internal organizer pockets and a heavy-duty floor, the Outdoor Connection Galaxy is a premium family camping tent for those who like to see and feel quality in the products they buy.
Hi, I know the specs say 215cm at the highest point but can you please tell me what the head height is in the 2 end rooms where it looks lower? Also do you have this tent set up for show at your Keswick store? Thanks Trudie
G'day Trudie,
Thanks for getting in touch, unfortunately, that's not something we know about this one, based on the pictures we'd assume it is approximately 15cm lower in the end rooms than the centre room. At this point in time we don't have this particular tent on display at Keswick.
Hi I can see the total size internally, but can you please advise what the size is for each room inside the tent? Thank you.
G'day Wendy,
Each of the internal rooms is 240cm wide by 305cm deep in the Galaxy Family Dome tent.
purchased an oztrail lodge 450 and when it rains water pools on both sides of front awning which is very annoying. just wondering if the awnings are any different with this tent.
G'day Jamie,
The Galaxy Family Dome Tent awning will need to be shut when it is raining to provide good weather protection. Each of the awning sections are formed by adding zippers into the tent fly, so by leaving them open in the rain your tent will effectively only be one layer.
I am willing to pay shippng
G'day Chad,
Thanks for taking an interest in Snowys, but unfortunately we are only shipping within Australia at this time. You could get in touch with Outdoor Connection directly - their contact information is here. Sorry we couldn't be of more help Chad.
Hi, we have this tent - and the family love it. Loads of space and great layout. Sadly we were stuck in an awful storm the last time we camped - and we got a rip in the fly (for those readers thinking about a new tent....this was from a heavy branch falling on us and huge winds for 3 days....and while we got a rip - we remained dry. It is a great tent). We can't afford a new one, and don't want to buy a cheap alternative......can we get replacement flies?
G'day Dan,
I'm sorry to hear about your tent, though it's great to see that it still remained dry even after the rip in the fly!
A spare fly for your Galaxy Dome Tent is available, we don't have one in stock but we can organise to get one from Outdoor Connection for you.
If you're interested, just send us an email at service@snowys.com.au or give us a call on 1300 914 007 and we can organise that through our spare parts and warranties.
Can the awnings stay up all night or are they a part of the window so need to be closed? Also is there an option to add a side to the awning (like the Coleman Northstar?).
G’day Caroline,
You can definitely leave the awnings up all night on the Galaxy if you like, as the windows do have solid covers, so you can close them off for privacy.Â
I’ve just had a chat with Outdoor Connection and they've said that unfortunately, you can’t add a side wall to this particular tent model.Â
What size tarp should I purchase to go under this tent if I want some tarp to extend out underneath the awning area? I am looking at the oztrail ultra mesh tarp. Thanks
I've been comparing this to the Coleman Montana 12 CV family tent and had a query about the flooring. The Coleman has a thick PVC coated floor that appears to be very durable and helps to smooth over rougher surfaces, what kind of floor does the Galaxy Plus have? Also, I understand the tent comes with 6 poles for the awning, am I likely to need more if I wanted to raise all possible awnings (or at least the awnings on both sides at the same time)?
