Excellent Tent

We have owned this tent for two years now, and have camped through all seasons. Our Galaxy would have to be the best tent we've owned so far, we love the large windows that let in loads of fresh air and we sleep so much better because of it, we have camped during winter and never been cold -although we do take appropriate bedding and clothes. It is cool enough to have a nap during the day, you can stand and move about with ease, we have kids in the end room and keep bags etc in the middle or ext

Very happy

Have only taken it on one trip so far but happy with the size and quality. Plus it arrived quickly and website easy to navigate. Liked the addition of a 'camping checklist' with the tent.

What are the packed dimensions of the galaxy?1 answers

- GEMBROOK, VIC(4 months ago)
Hi Annie, the Galaxy comes in two packages, one for the tent and one for the poles. The main tent bag is approximately 85 x 45 x 45 cm, and the pole bag approximately 80 x 20 x 20 cm.

What are the external dimensions1 answers

What size tarp should I purchase to go under this tent if I want some tarp to extend out underneath the awning area? I am looking at the oztrail ultra mesh tarp. Thanks

- CAMBERWELL, VIC(6 months ago)
G'day Sam - As a rule of thumb, to work out external dimensions for a tent of this size, where internal dimensions are given, add roughly 10cm to each side. That'll make a tent of this size around 7.4 x 3.25 metres. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

How thick is the floor material and will I need additional awning poles?1 answers

I've been comparing this to the Coleman Montana 12 CV family tent and had a query about the flooring. The Coleman has a thick PVC coated floor that appears to be very durable and helps to smooth over rougher surfaces, what kind of floor does the Galaxy Plus have? Also, I understand the tent comes with 6 poles for the awning, am I likely to need more if I wanted to raise all possible awnings (or at least the awnings on both sides at the same time)?

- EAST MELBOURNE, VIC(8 months ago)
Hi Mark, in terms of the floor material, Coleman use a PVC coated Nylon, whereas Outdoor Connection use a heavy duty PVC which has more of a tarp feel about it. Both are very durable, and I wouldn't base my decision solely on this. Overall the Outdoor Connection tent feels like a heavier duty make. As for the awning poles, the Galaxy comes with four poles, the Galaxy Plus has 6, and you will need to add an extra 10 poles to erect awnings all the way around the tent. We have suitable poles, you can find them by searching for 'Poles Apart T/Nut Pole" on our website.
