When you’re willing to carry the extra grams and sleep comfortably on your cool weather hike, grab a Comfort Plus Self Inflating Mat from Sea to Summit.
This mat is wider for extra space and is 8cm thick for premium cushioning as you doze, and has an R-value of 4.1 for insulation in wintry temperatures. The interior features the Delta Core™ technology, which is comprised of large triangular cores to keep the weight and bulk down while also providing support and allowing it to be packed down. The base is made from a durable 30D polyester with extrusion laminated TPU with an anti-slip print, while the top has a soft 30D stretch knit fabric.
For easy inflation and deflation, the unique multi-action reversible single valve makes both processes a breeze. You’ll be glad you carried those extra grams when you set up basecamp on a chilly night with the comfy and warm Comfort Plus Self Inflating Mat from Sea to Summit.

Hi Could you please advise if this is a noisy mat when you lay on it and turn over ? Thanks
Michael - Wollongong, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Michael,
No, the Comfort Plus SI series is not known to be noisy at all as it's filled with foam. The Sea to Summit Air-Sprung ultralight mats are generally the ones that people find on the noisier side. You're pretty safe with self-inflating options.

Use with stretcher1 answer
I’m looking for a mat to use with an Oztrail Easy Fold stretcher, but I’m hoping to avoid the carry bulk of a Zempire Monstamat (my option 2 atm). Do you think this would fit reasonably on one without sacrificing too much comfort?
Azza - Mackayl, QLD(4 years ago)
G'day Azza,
Assuming you have the standard single stretcher, the fit should be fine. Whilst the Comfort Plus Self Inflating Sleeping Mat is 8cm thick, you'll be using it with a stretcher instead of directly on the ground, so it will still be a comfortable option.

Pump to inflate1 answer
Can you get a seperate pump to inflate this insead of using your lungs?
Alex - 4075(4 years ago)
G'day Alex,
The Sea to Summit Comfort Plus is a self-inflating mattress, not an air mattress. It will self inflate, so will not need to be blown up via pump or lungs! Hope that helps!

Is this an older model of the tapered version?1 answer
I can’t seem to find the rectangular version on the sea to summit website. Is the rectangular version an older model of the tapered one found below? https://www.snowys.com.au/comfort-plus-si-sleeping-mat/
Sandy - South Melbourne(5 years ago)
G'day Sandy,
No, the Comfort Plus SI Rectangular models are part of their current range. I'm not sure which version of the Sea to Summit website you're looking at, but from what I can see they don't actually list each size of the mat on their own website. The Comfort Plus SI actually comes in 3 different lengths of the tapered mat, and two different sizes of the Rectangular mat.

When compared to the S2S Ether Light Sleeping Mat.1 answer
How does the Comfort Plus SI rate in terms of comfort and durability?
Tom - Keysborough(5 years ago)
G'day Tom,
We tend to find that these two mats hit a slightly different market and purpose so while they're comparable, they're a little different. The Comfort Plus SI Rectangle sleep mat is a combination air and foam mattress that will keep you super comfortable, but with a packed size and weight that is probably best suited to trips with a large pack, or where you're not too worried about carrying too much weight. These tend to be purchased mainly by people doing a single overnight walk, kayak trip, motorcycle trip or similar. The Ether Light Sleeping Mat is an air-filled insulated mat that is also super comfy, but packs down much smaller and lighter, and tends to be purchased by multi-day hikers. Overall both mats are going to be on the upper end of comfort with 8cm and 10cm thicknesses. In terms of durability, the Ether Light is 30/40D nylon, which performs well. The COmfort Plus SI has a 30D polyester finish, that is also durable, yet nice and comfortable to sleep on.

Is it the same product as this, just wider?

JJ - Bellingen(5 years ago)
G'day JJ,
Yes they are very similar mats mate, however Sea to Summit have designed the Tapered Sleeping Mat specifically with women in mind. It offers comfort and support in areas specific to the female body which isn't to say that a male couldn't use it, its just the main difference when comparing to the CP Rectangle Sleep Mat. Given the slimmer design of the Tapered Mat, it is of course a few grams lighter as well (0.895Kg as against the 1.265Kg on the Rectangle) but apart from these details, the technology and specs stack up the same. Hope that helps! Cheers :)
