With excellent insulation, plush thickness and a very clever design – the Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe Insulated Rectangular Wide is an excellent choice for nights out in the wilderness.
This mat features 8cm or air sprung cells, which provides luxurious comfort and insulation when you’re out in the elements. The Comfort Deluxe Insulated utilises Sea to Summit’s Exkin Platinum® fabric which reflects radiant heat and Thermolite® insulation which prevents convective heat loss. The smart dual-layer design means that if you accidentally puncture one layer, the other remains fully functional so you’ll never be left sleeping on the cold hard ground.
The interior features anti-microbial treatment to keep it free of bacteria, and you can inflate the top later to your level of comfort, while independently maintaining a high-pressure base which will protect the bottom of your mat. This mat also features a multi-function valve which means you can easily inflate, deflate, and you can fine-tune the air pressure to your exact needs. For off-grid camping trips, the luxurious Comfort Deluxe Insulated Rectangular Wide mat will keep you comfortable and warm through the night.
Is this compatible with the sea to summit chair?
G'day Steve,
I've just given Sea to Summit a buzz to be doubly sure for you. They confirmed that the Comfort DLX Sleeping Mat does work with their Air Chair.
If you buy this sleeping mat do you need to buy a pump as well?
G'day Kristyn,
You certainly don't need to have a pump for the Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe DLX Sleeping Mat as you can blow it up with your mouth but if you want to make life a little easier for yourself then a pump like the Jet Stream Pump Sack definitely wouldn't go astray.
G'day Andrew,
You're correct, the new model of the Sea to Summit Comfort DLX Insulated Sleeping Mat will have the pump sack included. Unfortunately for us though, we're still receiving the previous model of this sleeping mat. Until Sea to Summit release the new model, we're still sitting on the model without the stuff sack.
I’m just wondering about the comfort comparison more than the insulation properties and does the Dlx still make a bit of noise even with fabric top cheers snowys
G'day Neale,
It's a bit hard to answer "comfort" questions as it's often just a case of personal preference. For what it's worth, the Sea to Summit Comfort DLX Insulated Sleeping Mat does have a slightly higher R-Value but it would be a little louder when you roll over etc. during the night.
The stock for the large size is now listed as low. Do you anticipate any issues with re-stocking? Is this product still in the STS catalog? I ask because I may initially buy one and, if we like it, more.
G'day Jose,
It's only listed as low because it's a popular product and we sell lots of them. We're hoping to receive more mats before Christmas. Because of this reason and the fact that Sea to Summit only released the mat last year, we anticipate that the mat will continue to be available for some time. As far as Sea to Summit themselves are concerned, they are continuing to range it and have no plans to discontinue at the moment.
Hi, The description in Details suggests this mat has two valves, one for the upper and one for the lower layer. Is this correct? Thank you.
G'day Jose,
That is correct. It's a feature unique to the Sea to Summit range and only currently available with the Comfort DLX Insulated Sleeping Mat due to its comfort deluxe air cell design.
Hi How does this product compare/differ from the large insulated comfort plus Sea to Summit mat?
G'day Caroline,
The Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe is 1.7cm thicker and features a soft knit nylon top which reduces noise and is softer to touch. It can be several hundred grams heavier, depending on which size you choose. Also, the comfort plus comes in a rectangular and a tapered shape, whereas the deluxe is rectangular only.
