Keep enough food and drinks cold for your adventure and be able to make ice even in the middle of the bush with the CFX 55IM Fridge/Freezer With Ice Maker from Dometic.
This design has a powerful VMSO3 compressor cooling technology which efficiently refrigerates and deep freezes down to -22°C with a superior seal to retain cool air. Instead of buying ice, you can make your own with the independently controlled Rapid Freeze Plate which comes with two silicone ice trays. When you turn it on, the compressor cools it to make ice while maintaining the temperature in the rest of the unit.
The heavy-duty yet light ExoFrame construction gives protection in harsh environments, while the strong spring-loaded aluminium handles make carrying easy. Power it by AC, DC or solar and control and monitor it by WiFi/Bluetooth using the free app. Storage-wise, the 53L interior can fit up to 83 cans of drinks and has a clever internal layout without a dairy compartment for better organisation.
It’s also got an easy to read digital display which shows the temperature and status of your unit and comes with an upgraded USB port for charging your phone. Produce ice, and reliably chill or freeze supplies for a remote adventure with the CFX 55IM Fridge/Freezer from Dometic.

Can you tell me how tall this is with the door open?
G'day Ian,
Yeah, absolutely - it measures 87cm tall with the lid open.
Hi , is this fridge a dual zone? IE where the ice maker sits is the freezer and the rest being the fridge, and if so how much litre capacity is each zone?
G'day Ian,
No, it's not a dual zone fridge.
The Ice Maker component is a small stand alone section in the fridge independently controlled by the "Rapid Freeze Plate".
When you turn the fridge on, the compressor cools it to make ice while maintaining whatever set temperature you have allocated for the rest of the unit.
This Rapid Freeze Plate only covers the small thin section where the silicone ice trays fit, and does not affect the fridge/freezer space at all.
Can the fridge be connected to 12v and 240v at the same time and the fridge switches to 240 when available like other fridges can
G'day Josh,
Based on the information we've been able to find out, you can leave both the 12V and 240V cables connected, and the fridge will revert to 240V if AC supply is detected.
Can you turn the ice maker off? Also, if it can be turned on/off, does the ice maker use more power?
G'day Potbelly,
Yes, the Ice Maker can be turned on or off. Dometic recommends that you keep it turned off unless it is in use as it will consume more power when it is on.
Hi. I see that the lid is removable, is it also reversible please ? Thanks
G'day Ellen,
If by reversible you mean that the hinge is interchangeable to either side, then yes it is!
Makes it super easy to change over if you're using it in a draw or pull-out kitchen system.
Hope that helps!
Does this come with a cover?
G'day Selina,
We do know that the new CFX fridges are available and we'll be getting our hands on these soon, however, the covers are yet to be released. The current listing does not include the cover and whilst we'll do our best to offer a fridge/cover package deal down the track, we can't make any promises at this stage.
G'day Selina,
I'm just reaching out with a quick update to let you know that CFX3 covers are now available for purchase.
