good biker swag

Compact and Roomy for its size. Mattress a bit average. Replaced with self inflating which makes the overall size bigger but is now more comfortable

Nice little swag

Nice little swag however the description doesn't mention that the mattress is only 500mm wide, when the swag it self is 750mm wide. Canvas and stitching is first rate. The headend pole snapped after the second use, luckily I contacted Snowy's and they replaced it under warrant. Can't fault the after sale service.

Awesome

I bought this for my husband s he has been living around a tent every time he goes away. He was so impressed with the size and weight of the swag. Awesome product. Heat service from the company and fast delivery. I ordered it not expecting to get it in time for his birthday but received it in 3 days. Highly recommend the product and the company.

great swag

Great swag. Nice and comfortable. Stable in windy weather. Only detractor was the pegs for tying the guy lines. They were too thin for sandy soil and too hard to plant in stony ground. Will be going to buy proper tent pegs to hold my guy lines.

Swags with adequate ventilation.1 answer

What is the model, price and weight etc of your recommended swags with this feature ? Starting from the less to the more expensive.

- Seaford SA(4 weeks ago)

G'day Alastair,

Most swags will have ventilation at the foot end, a great quality and affordable option would be the Oztrail Mitchell King which is available for pre-order here (currently undergoing an update in the model).

If you'd like to discuss more of the specifics around the swag range, please don't hesitate to give us a buzz on 1300 914 007 and we can talk these through with you.

- Snowys(4 weeks ago)

Does the foot end have mosquito netting too ?1 answer

On a hot night I imagine that flow through ventillation is important. Maybe I need a different model to have that feature ?

- Seaford, SA(1 month ago)

G'day Alastair,

No mesh at the foot end with the Oztrail Biker Swag, unfortunately. If this is a feature you're after for the added ventilation, I'd recommend looking at a different model.

has anyone used an inflatable air mattress ( not self inflating) instead of the foam one1 answer

I wish to deflate the air mattress inside the swag with my sleeping bag and roll it up all together

- merrimac qld(3 months ago)

G'day Geoff,

I've heard a few stories of people doing this. No reason why you can't. Would be a great way to save a bit of extra weight and room.

Can I use this indoors? 1 answer

I'm currently travelling Australia, and have had some bad experiences in hostels, so my question is, can I just set this up on top of my hostel bed?

- Childers(4 months ago)

G'day Kate,

The Oztrail Biker Swag isn't going to be a good option to use indoors, as it's not freestanding. You might be able to tie it to the bunk to give it its structure, but we can't guarantee that would work.

You may want to consider using a combination of a mat, with a fitted sheet over it, on top of the hostel bed - that way you'll still have a buffer between you and the bed.

How waterproof is this swag?1 answer

How waterproof is this swag in general and what is there to stop water getting in the head end?

- Melton(4 months ago)

G'day Ben,

The Oztrail Biker Swag has a waterhead rating of 600mm which is similar to other Oztrail Swags across their range. The difference is that as it is designed to be a lightweight and compact swag, the canvas isn't as thick as others with its GSM being lower. I'd say that a good description of its ability would be that it can withstand rain showers, but I wouldn't feel too confident in storms.

At the head end, the canvas panel is zipped internally allowing you to close off from ventilation if the weather does turn, without getting out of the swag.

How waterproof is this without the flap covering the zip?1 answer

Hi, I was wondering how well this holds up in rain/heavy rain as it doesn't appear to have a flap at the head end, to cover the zip?

- Hobart, TAS(10 months ago)

G'day Sean,

From looking at the product image I can see where your concern is, I've just had a look at our display model - and the Oztrail Biker Swag does have a canvas flap that will cover the mesh/zip.

In rainy conditions, just guy rope it out taut, and you should have full water protection.

Can I get new poles for the Biker Swag1 answer

Hi, I have been given a biker swag but poles a broken. Can I buy a new set? Thanks heaps. Cheers

- DURACK, NT(1 year ago)

Hi Peter, the good news is that Darche do sell the Ranger Solo Biker Poles as spare parts, so you can have that swag up and running again. We don’t sell spare parts through our online store - but if you give our service team a call on 1300 914 007 then we can take down your full details and sort something out for you. Just make sure you mention this online inquiry to get them up to speed.

- Snowys(1 year ago)

Hi what accessories come with this swag?1 answer

The picture shows the swag has the metal poles but they aren't listed in the description. Also does it come with a carry bag or do I have to purchase one seperately? Finally, I am intending to use the swag up north in the Pilbara, will I need an airbed or should the mattress be sufficient and if so, what type do you recommend?

- MOUNT BARKER, WA(1 year ago)
Hi Elizabeth, The Biker Swag comes with 2x alloy poles and straps to roll into a nice and small bundle. The mattress is only 5cm thick and 50cm wide, so if you'd like something more comfortable I'd recommend looking at a self inflating mattress. These vary greatly depending on your need, but if you need it to pack down small I'd recommend looking at our Hike Sleeping Mats range. You have 76cm of width in the Biker swag, which is ample room to fit in an insulated sleeping mat for those really cold nights. Please call us on 1300 914 007 so we can talk you through the range and find out which one will suit your needs best.
