The sleeping mat game just got an upgrade with the 3D Fatmat series from OZtrail.
Fatmat is the perfect name for the class-leading 15cm thick memory foam fill in the 3D Fatmat 750. Combine this with super soft yet durable and water-resistant outer material along with the speed and convenience of self-inflation and you have the ultimate single size sleeping mat. 3D high density, open-cell, memory foam provides maximum warmth and body-hugging comfort while the 30D pongee top and sides and 75D pongee base offer a luxurious feel and superior stability. Inflation, adjustment and deflation are made easy by the 360° wide open twist valve with just a simple twist.
It's the perfect single size for stretchers, jumbo swags and tents. You can even keep one at home for when the kids have friends over. Pack down is not a problem with the compression straps on the carry bag and extra included hook and loop crank straps.

Storage sack pumping1 answer
Can the storage sack be used to pump extra air into this sleeping mat like the Blackwolf 3D Hexatherm mattress sack can? This is such a useful feature to get the mattress to an individuals liking. If not, is the air filter on this mat the same size as the Blackwolf one, maybe I could use my blackwolf sack on this one to pump extra air in?
Sandra - Greensbrough, VIC(3 months ago)
G'day Sandra,
The storage bag doesn't double as a pumpsack on the Oztrail Fatmat bags, but the vlaves are the same as the BlackWolf mats so that bag should work no worries. Hope that helps!

couple kit1 answer
Hi Is there a coupling kit that we can use to keep two mats together?
Nancy - Woonona East, NSW (9 months ago)
G'day Nancy,
It's not an Oztrail specific option, but EXPED do make a universal mat coupler kit - you shouldn't have any issues using it with the Fatmat 750 mats.

Oztrail 750 Fat Mat1 answer
Advice please on how to keep 2 single mats together when wanting to use them as a queen. Currently they are separating during the night even with a mattress protector and queen fitted sheet.
Debbie - North Coogee, WA(1 year ago)
G'day Debbie,
You can keep 2 single mattresses together with the Exped Universal Mat Coupler Kit, they come with 2 straps that wrap around and keep both mattresses together.

Oztrail fatmat swag1 answer
Hi there, does the oztrail fatmat fit an oztrail king mitchell swag?
Lea - Townsville City, QLD (1 year ago)
G'day Lea,
We havent tried this in person, but the measurements of both indicate there wont be any problem. The Mitchell King is 210L x 90W cm, the Fatmat 750 is 198L x 76W cm. Hope that helps.

Is the Oztrail 750 Fat Mat Bonded?1 answer
Is the Oztrail 750 fatmat a bonded inflating mat?
Aaron - Wollongong, NSW (1 year ago)
G'day Aaron,
Yes it is. There are very few un-bonded mats these days. Bonding means the external fabric is adhered to the internal foam in some capacity, which helps with even inflation & a nice surface.

Oztrail Fatmat1 answer
Does the Oztrail fatmat have an R value? Is it suitable for winter camping?
Maverick - Apollo Bay, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Maverick,
I don't believe Oztrail have had these mats assessed for a R-value rating, but when we compare it to other brand mattresses that are similar we'd take a guess that it's around the R-value 8-9 mark. You shouldn't have any issues with winter camping on these mats, just make sure the rest of your sleep system/bedding is suitable for the weather you'll be camping in.

Roll up in a darche dusk 2 dawn 9001 answer
Will this be able to fit and be rolled up inside the swag? Or will the 15cm thick mat be too much? I'm generally able to get a pretty tight roll with an older 10cm self inflater
Chris - Sandy Beach, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Chris,
I cant see any reason why you couldnt have this rolled up inside the swag, but cant guarantee it would still fit in the storage bag (if you use a bag with your swag). The best chance you'd have is to pull the mattress out and deflate as much as possible first, then when you put it all back together you can get a tighter roll. When comparing the packed size of this mat to other 10cm options, its only a couple of cm thicker when rolled up on its own - so if you still have a bit of room left over in the swag bag with your older mattress, you shouldn't have too many issues.

Fatmat 750 with oztrail easy fold single stretcher 1 answer
Does this mat fit comfortably with the oztrail easy fold stretcher single size?
Michelle M - Devonport, TAS(3 years ago)
G'day Michelle,
Yes, the Fatmat 750 just fits on top of the Oztrail Easy Fold Single Stretcher. It will extend over the top of the side rails, so if you wanted less of a side curve up on the mattress, then the Easy Fold Single Jumbo may be more suitable.
