Looking for a reliable tent for three? The roomy and durable Tungsten 3P tent will shelter you on your next outdoor expedition.
The livable design of the Tungsten uses pre-bent poles and cleverly placed clips to pull out the sides of tent, and therefore maximize the interior for extra livability. The seam taped 1500mm waterhead rated fly provides rain coverage, while the 2000mm seam taped floor and additional footprint protect your tent from below.
This tent features DAC Press fit poles with a velocity 7000 ridge pole and colour coded clips, poles and fly for easy pitching. Ventilation wise, the interior features No-See-Um mesh and vents on the fly for breathability. The two D-doors allow access in and out of the tent, while the vestibule on either side provides ample storage space for your pack and dirty boots.
Get more use out of your headlamp as a tent light, by hanging it up in the lampshade pocket, for diffused ambient lighting. And, organise your smaller essentials in the interior pockets inside your shelter. For the hiking trio or couple who like the extra space, the Tungsten 3P from Marmont is just what you need.
Great tent (so far), plenty of room (for 2!; camping), especially due to this particular design (vertical lower sidewalls, flatter roof). Only tried and tested for a week, held through a windy night with 70mm rain with ease (dry!) so I'm happy. The material dried out really quickly too.
(One complaint/suggestion: it could use 4 more pegs standard though, and maybe 2 more stays/strings; to be locked down in wind/rain).
Oh and FYI (potential buyer); the internal mesh is lower on one side than the other; perhaps for choice of increased head or feet ventilation? Speaking of mesh: I now understand why a 4 season tent isn't necessarily the best for all 4 seasons!; that's really a 'winter' tent. This 2-3 seasons tent is well ventilated (even with the fly on) for hot summer days and also well structured for rain protection etc, with the trade-off being for cold winters: the heat will be lost through the mesh. This is an ideal tent for most seasons/occasions. Probably just not up in the snow mid winter. Even as a light weight hiking tent it's great for camping/backpacking too (with one less person in the tent than the design capacity!).
Finally: Excellent customer service at Snowys; was really impressed, especially as I was 'internet' shopping. You'll be hard pressed to beat this combination of price, quality products, and customer service anywhere.
Hi Snowys, In regards to the question from Levin who enquired if a footprint is included with the Marmot Tungsten tent. You have advised him that it doesn’t, when in fact it does come with a footprint. I’ve attached a photo where it states it on the bag. Cheers, Steph :)
Hello, can you please compare this tent to the Black Wolf Grasshopper UL 3? Thanks
There are a few differences that separate the Marmot Tungsten 3P Hiking Tent from the Black Wolf Grasshopper UL 3. The Marmot is made of polyester compared to the Black Wolf's Nylon. The Marmot is lighter, has more headroom and is slightly larger. The Black Wolf has a higher waterproof rating and both tents come with limited lifetime warranties.
When is this one going to be available again?
Can I attach my Marmot gear loft?
I've just unpacked one of the tents we've got down on the shop floor to check this for you. I can confirm that the Marmot Tungsten 3P Hiking Tent does have tabs to connect a gear loft to.
Hi guys Was just wondering what the season rating is ? 3 or 4 ?
I've just asked our hiking tent doyen, Brock & he showed me that the Marmot Tungsten 3P Hiking Tent is a season 3 tent because the inner is mostly made up of mesh. If it were solid then it might have been a season 4. I hope this clears things up for you.
some stockist stay it comes with foot print some say it dosen't could you please confirm
We've just double checked one of the models on the shop floor and can confirm that they do come with a groundsheet included!
