Light and comfortable

great poles

Just what I needed

These were invaluable on a recent walking holiday in the UK. Especially on narrow slippery tracks, where I felt more comfortable having that extra stability or on steep descents, saving the stress on the knees. I'm a convert and really missed them on another recent trip tackling some US climbs. Very affordable price from Snowy's

Decent poles

Also doubles as a decent weapon. If you fully collapse it, it has enough mass to smack heads. I keep in my car and the other next to my bed.

Great Product

Fantastic product !!! Lightweight and grips are solid. Quick locking mechanism is easy to use. I'm having fun using them and I'm confident they'll do a great job when I tackle Kokoda in September 🏃👍😊

Life Saver

Took these on the Oxfam trailwalker and they were an absolute life saver. Saw a bunch of people throwing their cheap alternatives away during the walk because their poles kept slipping out, but the lock mechanism on these is excellent and I had no issues at all.

So far so good

Used it quite a lot recently, quality poles, only drawback, handles are a bit uncomfy.
Extremely useful in steep descents.

Great Value for money

Great value for the price. Only one concern - one of the poles had to be adjusted (screw tightened as it had a gradual collapse going on.)

Best value hiking poles on the market

Excellent poles that take a lot of punishment. No unwanted noises and stay exactly to set length. Snowy provides the best service!

Great value

I bought the poles for a more unusual reason. I am recovering from major knee surgery. I needed something to use after I got off crutches what would help me not loose my balance but that would not allow me to weight bear too much. I need to be fully weight bearing at this point in my rehab. The poles are perfect for it. They are light and give me the extra stability I need.

Pole length1 answer

hi I am 6 foot 2 inches/ 188 cm with 'long legs'. Are all the poles one size fits all? Or could you suggest a suitable size Thanks

- Pambula Beach(4 weeks ago)

G'day Russell,

As a fellow tall person, I feel your pain when it comes to things like this! The good news is that the Black Diamond Trail Back Trekking Poles are adjustable so you can adjust it right up to about 143cm high. This should make them a comfortable height for us tall fellas.

New orders before December?1 answer

it's showing as at of stock as at end of Nov. If i place a pre-order now, can it be still delivered before XMAS?

- Sydney(3 months ago)

G'day Michael,

I've just spoken with our Black Diamond Distributor and they're on their way and we should be expecting them any day now. At this stage, delivery prior to Christmas shouldn't be an issue.

New stock1 answer

Thinking of getting these for my girlfriend as we're head on a hiking trip soon. Just wondering when the next load of stock will be in?

- Coogee (6 months ago)

Hey Paul,

We've got a stack of these on order with an eta of mid-September. That's the best estimate I can give you at the moment. We'll take the out of stock notification down as soon as we have stock in our warehouse.

New Stock1 answer

Hi is the new stock still on track for early August? Looking to get some other products as well but will hold off if I can get it all shipped at same time?

- Perth(7 months ago)

G'day Travis,

To the best of my knowledge, the Black Diamond Trail Back trekking poles are due back into stock in early August. You're welcome to place an order now if you like and we can ship whats currently available and follow that with the poles when they arrive back in store here. What ever works best for you!

sizing1 answer

Hi, I am only 153cm tall, would these be suitable for my height. I am doing Kokoda in October. If not could you advise on another brand/style that would be suitable. thank you

- Perth WA(7 months ago)

G'day Michelle,

I've just grabbed a Black Diamond Trail Back hiking pole and the minimum height I can set it to is approximately 75cm. I reckon this should work for you!

Weight load1 answer

Hi i was wondering if u could please tell me how much weight the poles will handle? Thanks.

- Windsor(8 months ago)

G'day Daniel,

Great question. From undertaking some research, Black Diamond unfortunately don't provide a weight rating. However, independent reviewers have done some testing (can't vouch for how credible) on the Flicklock Mechanisms and the most common response is around 150kg load resistance on these connections.

Price & weight question1 answer

Is the price per 1 pole? Is tge weight per pole as well?

- The basin(1 year ago)

G'day Martin,

I do apologise about the confusing name, but yes the Black Diamond Trail Back definitely comes in a pair (I checked the stock to be sure).

I'll make sure the name is changed to prevent further confusion Martin. The weight on the packaging of these poles says 562g so individually they'd be 281g per pole.

Does your current stock look the same as this?2 answers

The 2016 edition comes with extra gripping areas below the hand grip. Is your current stock the 2015 edition from these photos, or has the photo not been updated since you received the latest ones? Thanks

- Townsville, QLD(2 years ago)
Our current stock is as per the image Steve, the new model may not have reached Oz yet. I've consulted our Black Diamond representative regarding an eta for Australia and I'll post my findings back here.
- Snowys(2 years ago)
Good Morning Steve! Word on the street is that the ETA for the updated BD poles into Australia is mid March, so not too far away. We'll have stock soon after they become available.

Is your listed price for the pair?2 answers

Hi there, Are these trekking poles a pair or only a single pole?

- WARWICK, QLD(2 years ago)
Hi Phil, Indeed! The listed price is for the pair of hiking poles. Only the treking poles featuring one pole in their display picture are a single pole, all the others should be a pair of poles. I hope this helps!
- Snowys(2 years ago)

Understandable that you'd be confused given the fact they mislabelled the item as "Tail Back Trekking Pole" But yes, these definitely come in pairs.
