No couple wants an ugly galvanised pole to come between them… right?
With the Oztrail Tourer Side Pole Kit you can ditch (or safely store) the centre pole that came with your Tourer 9 and create space for a queen size mattress.
It only adds a minute to the already speedy pitch time of the Tourer 9 and is easily attached internally with a roof section and two side poles.
Good service delivery was very quick would bye there again
We bought the side pole kit with the tent and used it once. It does the job exactly as promised and does eliminate the need for the centre pole. But we use the tent for touring so it is up and down all the time. The kit just adds to the set up and take down time and adds still more to the bulk of the tent when carrying it in (or in our case - on) the vehicle. Perfectly functional but we don't bother with it any more. (Besides we like the centre pole to grab on to when getting up off the mattress.)
Side pole kit transforms the living space of a Tourer tent - this kit does what it needs to. As always great Snowys service at the best price.
Exactly what I was after for my Hi Country touring tent (similar to the Oztrail Tourer 9 Plus).
It works good..i can use my tent again..😊
My husband heard about this, as the tent we purchased had a centre pole. Now having side poles much more "cosy" and convenient.
Made our weekend so much better without the middle pole. What a great bit of gear this is.matt
Side pole kit is great, ours is the older model but still fits good and now we can use our queen camp bed.
Or will it no longer fit in the bag that comes with the tourer?
We haven't tried this ourselves, but it looks like it will be difficult to pack it flat if you left the pole in.
It's likely you will have to detach the top pole section before packing it up, so that it will fit properly in the bag the Tourer 9 comes with.
Also keep in mind, that in general we don't recommend leaving poles in a tent when packing down as it can cause damage to the tent.
Hi Wil, the Oztrail Tourer Side Pole kit is designed to be used with the Oztrail Tourer 9 and Tourer 9 Plus, so if the measurements of your tent are the same it may fit. I’ve tried to find the measurements online but there doesn’t seem to be a website for Hi Country, and we’re not familiar with the brand. The height of the poles in this kit are 210cm (which are the poles highest adjustable length) and the width of the roof section is 60cm - so if you compare this to your tent then you should able to tell if it will fit. It might help to look at images on the product page to get an idea of where to measure your tent.
It's hard to say for sure Wil, as the Hi Country tent is not one that we stock! I've looked up the Hi Country tent and it seems the floor dimensions are the same, although the Hi Country tent has a higher maximum head height. My thoughts are that it would probably work, but as we're not able to test it I can't give you a definite answer.
Is a strong carry bag for travel included with purchase?
I have a tourer 9 Rv about 6 year old and want to convert it to accomodate double air bed .
