OZtrail Tourer 420 Fast Frame Tent

We don't have a display model for me to check, however, I've confirmed with other staff that the fly fully covers the inner tent except for the front awning.

The external windows will need to be shut from the outside if the weather changes. They can be rolled up on the outside and secured.

The internal mesh ceiling sections are not able to be covered from the inside. There is an internal divider to separate the tent into two separate rooms. The tent material is waterproof with extra protection for the roof, sides and rear of the tent. The guy ropes are fairly standard thickness. The pole frame is made from 16mm and 20mm steel tube sections.

The Tourer 420 Fast Frame Tent has 6 windows, they are rated as a 3 season tent which means they're not really designed for snow conditions. There aren't many tents sold here in Australia designed for snowy conditions unfortunately due to the general climate. We might be able to suggest something depending on your main requirements though. Give us a call on 1300 914 007 and we can chat through options.

The dividing wall does attach to the floor to give you a fully sealed off room in your Oztrail Tourer 420 Fast Frame Tent. It's a polyester material too but isn't a D spare per say, the zip comes down the middle and then along the floor, allowing you to roll the walls up and attach them to the side of the tent with a couple of loops.

Excellent question. I've popped across the office and spoken with our warranties manager, Nick. He said that in all his time at Snowys, he's never had to arrange a replacement or repair of one of the hinges on an Oztrail Tourer 420 Fast Frame Tent. That seems to be the best indication that they're of a pretty good quality.

Typically warranty doesn't cover environmental damage such as wind.

In windy conditions, we'd recommend that you ensure the tent is completely pegged out and that the guy ropes are tensioned. As with any 'tall' tent, they are susceptible to wind damage, but taking steps to ensure everything is set up correctly will go a long way to preventing this.

The wall inside the tent is fixed and can be opened with a zipper.

Yes there's a fabric panel to cover the doors to keep the elements out.

Both the Instant Up and Fast Frame tents are designed to be quick and easy to set up tents for extended trips where you’re going to be setting up in a new location quite frequently. So as far as setting up and packing down – these models are on par with each other.

Both tents will also give you plenty of space for two adults to relax, as they both have a large awning that can be used to sit under.

The main point of difference would be durability and weather resistance. The Instant Up has a thicker floor, a higher waterhead rated fly, and a denser fabric which will give you more protection from adverse conditions and rougher terrain. 

If you’re choosing a tent for occasional use then the Tourer may be better suited, but if you’re regular outdoors people then the Instant Up is a better long term investment.

I've just checked with the information provided by Oztrail, and the Tourer 420 comes with a fixed internal wall that can used to close off the rooms. 

If you have a look at the last image linked on the product page, you can see the bottom of the wall which may help to give you an idea of what it looks like all the way around.

I've just looked into this for you, and the main difference between the Fast Frame Cruiser and Fast Frame Tourer range is that the Cruiser range is built for tropical conditions. 

The Cruiser has a partial fly, which doesn't cover the sides of the tent which keeps the weight down and allows for more ventilation - which is ideal for when the weather is very warm. The Tourer also has a 150D PVC coated floor which is a little more heavy duty than the Cruiser.

I've just had a look at the inside of the display model, and I'm pretty sure what you've described is the gear organiser that comes with the tent. 

You can hang it up by the clips attached to the end of the ropes, as there should be little fabric loops on the inside of the tent. Then you can store your smaller items like your torch, or phone etc out of the way of the floor so they don't get trodden on.

I've just checked for you and the size of the living area under the awningof the Oztrail Tourer 420 Fast Frame Tent is 200cm x 400cm. Just keep in mind that while you can section the awning off, there will be a slight gap underneath so it won't be completely sealed.
