Airline luggage1 answer
Will airlines allow you to carry this in your checked-luggage? Given that it has an ignitor attached.
Mark - Broome, WA(6 years ago)
G'day Mark,
You shouldn't have a problem packing your Kovea butane stove in your checked-in luggage, although individual airlines rules may differ so it can be worth checking with them beforehand. They definitely don't like the fuel canisters though so you'll want to make sure these are available at your destination.

Hi. Do you know how long a canister lasts? What the cooking time is?1 answer
Kathy - Mount Martha(8 years ago)
Hi Kathy, this stove will boil a litre of water in two and a half minutes, which is pretty good! The fuel usage is approximately 140 grams per hour. The canisters come in a couple of different sizes, but to give you an idea - the small canister is 230 gms, so you would get about 100 minutes of run time. That's 40 litres of boiled water! How many days on the hiking track that equates to will vary depending on a number of factors, such as how many are using it, how many hot meals you want and how often you like to have a hot coffee :)

Can this stove use canisters from other brands?1 answer
And can other gas stoves also use canisters from other brands of stove?
Connor - Sydney(8 years ago)
G'day Connor - You sure can use a different brand cannister with the Kovea stove, and this applies to most other stoves too. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul
