The Targhee III Waterproof Mid from Keen is the revamped classic boot for your rugged adventures.

These shoes are made from waterproof leather and mesh for durability without the extra weight. The Targhee has a mud shield around the exterior for extra protection, and speed hooks to make it easy to adjust the laces. Your feet will be protected from water thanks to the waterproof yet breathable membrane. The interior features natural odour control, the EVA midsole cushions, and the ESS shank provides support.

Waterproofing1 answer

Would you recommend waterproofing the fabric tongue and leather before first use for added protection? If so what product can you suggest to use?

G'day Brendon,

These shoes are already waterproof. They have an internal Gortex style layer as well as an external water repelling treatment, straight out of the box. Any further attempt to waterproof this shoe will affect breathability & prevent the shoe from actually doing its job. Reduced breathability means super sweaty/wet feet.

Hey there just curious if the only metal in these is the upper hooks? I will be wearing them prospecting and the machine has to behave ðŸ˜‚

I've just checked in with our shoe experts, and they've advised the lace hooks are the only metal in these Targhee boots. You shouldn't have any trouble with your machine. Goodluck!!

Targhee 2 v 3?1 answer

Hi, I have a pair of Gypsum 2's that suit me perfectly, and am now looking for a second pair of boots. I am looking at the Targhee 2 & 3. My first question is are either of these a little higher over the ankle than the Gypsum 2? And the next is.... what is the benefit of the Targhee 3 over the Targhee 2? Thanks

G'day Rick,

The Gypsum II are a little higher than the Targhee II and III models. They feature a double hook style top, so have a little more ability to vary the lacing pattern. The Gympsum are now a discontinued line.

The Targhee III is a slightly upgraded model from the Targhee II, they are slightly higher than the II, with a little more support in the heel with the redesigned heel lock mechanism. Overall they're pretty similar, so we're sure you'd be happy with either model.
