Whether you need a solid tent for touring, want to add a room to your existing Earth Tent 6 or 4WD awning – the Earth Tent Edge from Explore Planet Earth is the versatile choice.
This tent is great for touring as it’s easy to set up and pack away and also has a compact packed size. It features a unique patented aluminium external frame for lightweight durability, and a Teflon coated polycotton ripstop inner with a 2000mm waterhead rating for adverse weather. You’ll be protected from the ground up thanks to the heavy-duty PVC floor, and access is easy via the single large door which has no-see-um mesh for insect protection and ventilation.
The Speedy Earth also comes with a small
Just wondering what the dimensions of the zip on awning that comes with the tent are?
G'day Kevin,
I've just called Explore Planet Earth and The Speedy Earth Tent Edge awning comes out 0.9m from the tent.
How does the Velcro around the main frame bars hold up in strong winds and over time. Will the Velcro pull away leaving you wit a collapsed tent?
G'day Adam,
The Speedy Earth Tent Edge is made to a high standard with robust velcro so we can't see it being a problem. To date, we've not had any reviews on the product, but Explore Planet Earth are pretty good at testing their products before they hit the market so we're confident the velcro won't be a problem.
Can this be zipped to the awning like the Hub can?
G'day Adam,
I wasn't 100% sure so I gave the supplier a call, they confirmed that the Edge attaches to the awning using a zipper, just like the Hub.
Do the side and front panels fit on the speedy earth tent? Like the speedy 4&6.
You can't get side and front panels for the Speedy Earth Edge Tent sorry Michael. The Speedy Earth 4 and 6, however, have side and front panels that are specific to each model.
I hope this answers your question.
Has the tent got an inner shell to keep heat and condensation at bay
G'day Michael,
I've just checked with the team at EPE and the Speedy Earth Tent Edge is a single layer tent. You can keep the condensation at bay using the side vents and rear windows. In the heat, you should be fine with some of the windows open to catch the breeze.
