Unfortunately, due to the pole design of this hiking tent, you need to erect the inner of the Explore Planet Earth Spartan 1 Hiking Tent first.

The Explore Planet Earth Spartan 1 Hiking Tent is a freestanding tent, though you will still have to peg and guy it out to keep it sturdy of course.
