If you’ve got a festival, or weekend trip planned where you need a dome tent that isn’t overly complicated and won’t burn a hole in your wallet – then the Skygazer 4XV from OZtrail is just for you.

The inner is made from polyester, and it has windows made from No-See-Um mesh to help you ventilate, and to keep the insects out. The window system on this tent also allows you to roll back the fly to allow for extra fresh air in your tent which is perfect for warmer weather.

This tent features a heavy-duty PE bucket floor to keep you dry from the ground up, and has a UVTex treated fly that reflects heat, and also creates a waterproof barrier to keep off a drizzle. The cross-pole design makes set up faster, increases the strength of your shelter, and it also makes watershed more easily. You’ll also have plenty of space for your pack and boots in the enclosed front vestibule.

The extra head height inside the tent makes it more comfortable and user-friendly, and the easy step D door makes getting in and out a breeze. If you’re after a simple and affordable dome tent that will get the job done, then look no further than the Skygazer 4XV from OZtrail.

Just okay

I've used this tent a few times now. I'm no gear snob, over many years of camping I've had several cheap tents and generally if you look after them well they are absolutely fine. This tent is a bit too cheap however. The zips are poor quality and won't last. The fly is too fragile (couple of small holes already) and the bathtub floor isn't sealed properly at the corner. You will need to buy 4 pegs for the corners as the supplied pegs are rubbish (that's pretty normal for all cheaper tents). All up, if you need a throw away tent for one or two trips this will be fine and has very good headroom. Anything else you'll want something better.

Does a Coleman Quickbed High Rise Queen Airbed fit inside this tent?1 answer

Or if you have other alternatives withing this price range, with good water protection (able to withstand rain).

G'day Roy,

The Coleman Quickbed Double High Quickbed Airbed is 198L x 152W cm and the sleeping area of the Skygazer is 220D x 240W cm so that bed should fit in this tent.

If you're looking for another tent that performs well at this price point that's a similar size, then we'd recommend taking a look at the Escape 4 Plus Dome Tent from Outdoor Connection.
