Howdy Trip, The Black Wolf Sierra 85L pack weighs 4.1kg. I weighed it myself, so you can be assured of the accuracy on this one. How does the mesh backing on the daypack work?2 answers

Is it similar to the Tempo, protruding from the back of the pack, physically separating your back from the pack? Or is it more like the Crux daypack consisting of a mesh padding that rests directly on your back (but providing better air flow)?

Good question Mitchell, I can follow this up on Monday for you and post my findings back here. Hi Mitchell, the daypack harness is similar to the Tempo with a mesh panel in front of a curved frame separating the pack from your back, and the hip belt is a simple webbing strap rather than a padded weight bearing belt.

Hi again Sam, it looks a little clunky, but the Sierra has a small cable attached to the front opening zippers, and a loop under the lid which enables it all to be locked closed with the included padlock. It would not be as secure as a regular travel pack, but is certainly a deterrent.
