This rugged shelter features a robust 150D polyester canopy that's been treated to shrug off both harsh sun and sudden showers. The lightweight yet sturdy powder-coated steel frame sets up in minutes, while multiple guy points and strong pegs keep everything stable when the wind picks up. With a generous 3x3m footprint, there's plenty of room to gather the crew or set up your camp kitchen in comfort.
Whether you're hosting a backyard barbie or setting up camp in the outback, the DARCHE Shady Shelter is your ticket to instant, reliable shelter wherever you need it.
Hello. Does it require extra poles to be put into the roof area or is it instant up? Thanks
G'day Angela,
It has an all in one frame, designed to be set up as ultimately in a few minutes.
Works on a similar premise to the instant up tents that have been around for a while with the collapsible knuckles and central pole hub.
Hello. Im looking for a shelter that is light weight and water proof but also has a tent that can connect to the shelter. I usually use a gazebo and peg the walls out to create a larger shaded area. Can this shelter or any other quick up shelter do all of this? Im hoping to tuck the back of my car under also for fridge access.
G'day Gabby,
Unfortunatley we don't have any shelters that tick all your boxes.
There is no tent connection or vehicle connection with the Shady Shelter, but it is lightweight.
The Zempire Roadiebase has both a vehicle link, and a tent link for seamless connection to certain Zempire tents.
The Zempire Aerobase also has tent connections, and would be wide enough to park a car next to it.
How do you set up. Is there a video. Is it easy
G'day Anne,
We don't have a video at this stage, and neither do Darche. We'll add it to our list for the future, but in the meantime we can say that setup is pretty easy/straightforward.
It has an instant-up style frame with hubs that fold out and lock into place.
Is the 3x3 dimension the overall footprint or the roofed area? Would this have a smaller coverage area than a standard 3x3 gazebo?
G'day Andrew,
The 3m² dimensions are the footprint of the shelter, not the roof cover area.
You'd have less coverage than a gazebo that is squared up and has a canopy the covers the whole footprint.
