What a beast!

Looked at this swag for ages before purchasing it. Really happy I did (actually wife put me out of my misery by buying it for my b’day). This is the fourth swag I’ve had over about 30 years and I think it’ll be the last. Really well made. Tough in every way right down to the last detail. Mattress is comfortable for me (I’m 6”2 and around 120kg), but I t will need to be replaced one day. No issues through the heavy rain. Strong wind doesn’t bother it. Snowys shipping and service outstanding as usual. Have no hesitation recommending this to anyone. You’ll get what you pay for.

Ridgedome swag is great

This swag is a great product, it's extremely spacious for a swag and always plenty of room to store belongings inside with you. I think it would be big enough to share with a segnificant other, maybe a bit close for two mates. I used this swag for the first time in 0degree weather and it held up fine with thermals and some light clothing a in -14degree sleeping bag and an extra doona just incase

Survived 4 days @ the Prom

Used my Darche Ridgedome swag last weekend @ Wilsons Prom, we had sun then rain & 100km winds, sway kept me warm & dry. Didn't move in the stong winds, mattress was extremely comfortable.

Darche carry bag? 1 answer

Would the ridgedome fit in the Darche carry bag or is it better to use the one recommend in the answer above?

- Upper Kedron (8 months ago)

G'day Matt,

The Darche Outbound 1100 Swag Bag will fit the Darche Ridgedome Swag well.

Condensation issues1 answer

How do I reduce the condensation in this swag? I have the foot end completely open and the head end half open and there is still so much condensation it is running down the inside walls. I am also freezing cold as my head and bedding is also wet.

- Tasmania(8 months ago)

G'day Emma,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're having with condensation. The only suggestion I can think of at the moment is maybe trying a small fan in your swag. If the night is still and there isn't airflow, then having the swag open won't help too much because the air still can't move.

Carry Bag1 answer

I am wondering if the Darche Ridgedome swag comes with a carry bag (for when its stored) ? Cheers

- Wamberal, NSW(1 year ago)

G'day Bruce,

The Darche Ridgedome Swag doesn't come with an included carry bag, but a good option would be something like the AOS Swag Bag Double - it's going to be a little roomy but it will accommodate the length of the swag when it's packed.

Rolled up size, and cotton V polycotton1 answer

What is the rolled up lentgth of the swag - the specs say 1400mm, but that must the box?? I am torn between the ridgedome and the dusk to dawn - what difference does the different canvas's make? Thanks.

- Thornlands(1 year ago)

G’day George,

We don’t have one of these swags on display, and I wasn’t able to take this swag out of its box - but from measuring the size of the box, the Ridgedome measures approx 100cm long x 35cm wide x 35cm high.

Keep in mind that the size of the swag won’t be exact to those dimensions once it’s out of the box, as you probably won’t be able to roll it as tight as the factory.

As for the materials - canvas is going to be more breathable compared to synthetic fabric, and it has natural insulation which’ll keep you cool when it’s hot, and warm when it’s cool. Canvas is often more durable over time as well.

Polycotton is a mixture of synthetic and natural fibre, so you’ll get more resistance to mould/mildew as it’ll be a little more water resistant.

I’d say it would come down to personal preference, but if you’re willing to spend little bit more the canvas may be worth in the long run in terms of quality.

Is this type of the Swag available for two people (double)1 answer

Is this type of the Swag available for two people (double)

- Dandenong(1 year ago)

G'day Boris,

I've just had a look through Darche's range and unfortunately the Ridgedome Swag only comes in one size - King Single.

Darche make some other styles in a double size, specifically the Dusk To Dawn 1400 and the Dirty Dee 1400 which are both also freestanding swags (like the Ridgedome) - so you might want to take a look at those if you're interested in a Darche model.

You can also check out the rest of the double sized swags in our range here to get a feel of what else is available.

Sway1 answer

Hey there, Does the Darche Ridgedome Dome Swag sleep two people?

- Sydney (2 years ago)
G'day Kristy - You could sleep two people, but the Ridgedome is designed to be more of a roomy single person swag. Most double swags are around 140cm wide. If you want to sleep two in this swag, they should be slightly-built and not mind spooning each other! Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul
