With the temperature rising by the day, it’s pretty darn difficult to stay inside on the weekend when you’re feet are itching to run off the beach, and spend a lazy day out enjoying the water. But before you get ahead of yourself, you can’t rely on the shade of the jetty to protect you and your pals from those harsh rays – which is why a compact and easy to use shelter like the Smart Shade Quick Up Sunshelter is a total lifesaver.
There’s nothing worse than sand blowing into your fish and chips, luckily one side of the shelter can be zipped up to protect from breezy conditions, or unzipped when you need a bit more ventilation in your space. To set up: lay your shelter flat, pull the drawstring up while holding the hub, pull until the upper and lower sections connect, tie the drawstrings, and then peg it out!
Featuring UPF50+ protection, and attached sand bags for extra stability – you’ve got yourself a simple shelter that provides you with everything you need in a sun shelter. Just remember to slip, slop, slap!

Silver backing?1 answer
Is the underside of this shelter silverlined (like the Caribee UV Guardian)? And can guy ropes also be attached to the knuckles to increase stability in windy conditions?
Erica - Sydney(6 years ago)
G'day Erica,
There is no silver backing on the underside of the Smart Shade Quick Up Sunshelter.
We'd recommend against attaching guy ropes to the framework as it appears that it isn't durable enough to take the stress of both the shelter and the guy ropes.
Please also note that the Smart Shade Quick Up Sunshelter is no longer available.

Is this shelter similar to the Caribee Guardian UV Beach Shelter?1 answer
Is this easy to set up?
Megan - Busselton(7 years ago)
G'day Megan,
The Smart Shade Quick Up Medium Shelter and the Caribee UV Guardian are quite similar, but I would say that the UV Guardian would have the edge in terms of quality as the fabric will offer more rain protection, and the frame is a little sturdier.Â
To set up the UV Guardian, you hold it upright, lay out the legs, hold the top with one hand, and then pull the string up with the other hand, and then peg it down.
To set up the Smart Shade Quick Up you lay your shelter flat, pull the drawstring up while holding the hub, pull until the upper and lower sections connect, tie the drawstrings, and then peg it out. So I'd say that both shelters are going to be very simple to use and set up.Â
