I've watched your video on assessing the comparative warmth of non-rated sleeping bag. Thank you! I also saw that Snowys adds their own rating based on experience and that, basically, heavier bags have more fill are are therefore warmer. I am comparing the Quest -5 bag to my Coleman Mudgee -3. Snowys rates both at 0C. Can you explain why, when the Quest bag is so much lighter? Is it solely the smaller size? Also, I'm wondering about the quality of the Quest, due to the considerably lower price. Could you comment on this as well please? Thanks

G'day Petrea,

The weight of the Mudgee is largely attributed to the size, its a significantly larger bag.
The material on the quest is also a lightweight sythetic, as opposed to a heavier brushed/soft touch polyester on the Mudgee.
We'd suggest they'd both perform similarly in real life.

Yes you can, but one side will have the hood over it.
Just be mindful of that if using for 2 people!
