BRS or MSR pocket stove compatibility1 answer
Could you please advise if these canisters are compatible with the MSR or BRS pocket stoves, if known?

These canisters are not compatible with the small hiking stoves as they require a Butane/Propane mix. This canister is only Propane and is compatible with camping stoves only.

Yes, the Coleman Propane Gas canister will connect directly to the regulator arm on the Fyrenight stove.

If you're looking for something a little compact then the Companion Propane Single Burner Stove runs on these bottles and is a great compact option. The other stoves that suit these bottles are Double Burner options.

Any guidance on how to dispose/recycle these? The bottle says to "check local regulations" but everywhere I've checked (at home and when I've been camping) you need a special service to take gas cylinders like a "Household Chemical CleanOut".

We're not sure about services in Sydney, however we're thinking that if your council holds a hazardous waste day, then this would be suitable to dispose of there.

We will be using this with an Eventemp stove and probably morning and night for a long weekend.

One bottle will probably do the trick for a regular weekend, however, for a long weekend, we'd suggest carrying two.

What are the laws regarding storing these in vehicles? Do they come under the same rules as a normal LPG bottle?

Yes essentially the same rules apply to disposable Propane cylinders, so please proceed with caution if you're travelling with these in your vehicle.

These bottles are designed to be connected directly to a BOM fitting on a stove or heater unit. You can use this adapter to attach one of these bottles to the end of a 3/8" BSP hose.
