Does the kit include a USB charging port? If not are there adapters available to connect to the power box?
G'day A,
The Portable 120W Solar Mat Kit comes with a 50 Anderson and 12V DC Aligator Clip cable, so you can connect the panel to a battery system using either of these. There is no USB charging port as they pack a bit too much punch for a direct USB port, lots of battery boxes have USB outputs though if you're looking to charge some USB devices.
I purchased this solar panel kit a year ago and I am very happy. At this current reduced price I was considering buying another and linking the two panels to have a 240W system. Will that work? Can I link the two panels and use the one controller to double the charging capacity when needed?
G'day Franco,
Apologies for the delayed reply, I've heard back from Companion/Roman this morning, and they've confirmed that yes you can use two panels together through one controller to end up with a 240W system.
I am after a good quality but compact solar panel suitable for helping to charge my 130amp/hr auxillary battery when camping in one spot. The battery runs a 40l engle fridge (0°C to 4°C range), small strip LED lights at night and occasionally a 12 water pump for showering. Will this Roman 120W solar mat kit be suitable.
G'day Franco,
Thanks for getting in touch. The Roman Portable 120W Solar Mat Kit will do a good job of keeping your 130amp/hr battery topped up. The maximum output from the panel you should expect would be around the 6amps per hour in ideal conditions, realistically you should allow for a little less. If you depart with a
Are these really sunpower C60 cells? I ask as I'm use to seeing Sunpower C60 cells without the tabbing on the front of the cells. I'm guessing this must be an older cell and not the 'Maxeon' ones?
G'day Jasper,
Just to be safe, I gave Roman's importer a buzz to confirm for you. They told me that the Roman Portable 120W Solar Mat Kit does still use Sunpower C60 Cells.

G'day Daniel,
The Roman Portable 120W Solar Mat Kit can deliver up to 122.4W of power and the Yeti 400 can only handle up to 120W of power input. Provided that the power coming from the solar panel doesn't quite reach its maximum, then you should be fine.
So could you please tell me where we could purchase a 24 volt kit??
G'day Pam,
We unfortunately, don't sell any 24-volt solar panel kits. From my understanding, they aren't very common and require a bit of set up. Most people I have spoken to who have transformed Toyota Coaster buses or similar have made modifications to install an additional battery to run as a separate or dual system which they then run their 12 volt solar panels from.
Either way - I'd recommend in your circumstance that you speak with a solar specialist such as Redarc about your options. They are much better placed to provide professional advice on these electrical related plans.
We have a Toyota coaster camper bus running on 24 volts. Would this panel still work?
G'day Psm,
The Primus Portable 120W Solar Mat Kit can only operate on 12v, so you won't be able to connect it to your 24v battery in your Toyota Coaster.
