Whilst we don't have the ability to test these ratings ourselves in store. Smart Shade have assured us that the Pop-Up Beach Sunshelter is rated at UPF 50 . We'd always encourage people to apply sunscreen as well as an added, extra precaution.

The Smart Shade Pop Up shelter isn't designed to create a completely waterproof area, it's main purpose is to offer sun protection at the beach.

The fabric will offer some water resistance, but if you use this on your lawn, rain will seep in underneath the walls as it doesn’t have a floor.

I'd also say that this shelter isn't designed to be set up for more than a couple of hours at a time, so I would suggest looking into a more solid option to house your pooches to be on the safe side, you might have better luck at a pet store as they should have something available.

There isn't a recommended amount, but as this shelter is 230L x 125W cm, would say that you could fit either two adults, or three children comfortably inside the Smart Shade Pop Up Beach Sunshelter Medium.

If you're after the floor it's worthwhile getting the slightly larger family tent as the small and medium shelters don't have this additional feature.
