We are heading in a hike where we only have access to cool water through the day (no fires or stoves). Does any of this range work with cool water?
G'day Angela,
Yes, you can use cold water to rehydrate these meals, however, they will take a lot longer to reach an edible consistency. Generally, you'll need to leave them for at least twice the recommended time frame. You'll probably also find they're not overly tasty, but if you're just needing calories at the end of the day, then cold water will do the trick.
Whats the shelf life of these dehydrated food in general? Planning to stock up early (say 3 months early) before our tril.
G'day Surin,
The expiry dates on our current Back Country Cuisine range are the years 2022/2023.
