How would this hang inside a tent that doesn't have a central book above the mattress? We have a Black Wolf Turbo Lite 380 Cabin. Each room has one hook which is alongside a wall, but in the centre of each room. We're using an Exped double mattress in one room, and will sometimes use a second Exped double mattress in the other room. If this isn't going to work, is there anything else you can recommend? Two of us get eaten alive by mozzies badly, so we want that extra bit of insect protection.
G'day Jacqui,
You could make this work for your set up, however you might find that it is a little too cumbersome to get set up and in place. Generally, we'd only recommend this type of product if you don't already have a mosquito barrier - e.g. an open-sided shelter, shed etc. Your tent will do the same job as the net protecting you from mozzies, so we'd recommend pairing your tent with some repellent or a mosquito repeller in case any sneak into the tent.
Hi, just wondering if using it inside a tent how does it attach to the floor??
G'day Michelle,
There aren't attachment points at the base to attach it to a tent floor, however, there is a bit of a skirt at the bottom that is designed to be tucked underneath a mattress.
how do you get in and out of it?
G'day Sabine,
Depending on how you set it up, and what you're covering with the net we'd generally recommend using one corner as your entrance corner, and pegging or clipping that corner back down once you're in.
Keen to understand whether the mesh on this net is fine enough to keep out midges, and if not is there another product that would.
G'day Luke,
The Permethrin Treated Pyramid Net is probably going to be one of your most effective measures against midges. The mesh itself isn't no-see-um (which is a mesh intertwined with fibreglass as they actually chew threw standard mesh if they can't fit), however, midges are deterred by the Permethrin treatment. The mesh size is quite fine and should do a good job of keeping the midges out while the Permethrin is still potent. Over time it can wear off so you may need to re-treat the mesh down the track to ensure it stays that way.
I’m keen on the nano models of these as they way lighter, better for bushwalking. Any plans to stock the nano?
