I already own a flextail max sup pump that I use to inflate my domestic Santorini air tent. It has several different pump connectors including standard Boston valve. Can you please tell me if there is a valve adaptor that fits onto the monstabed so I can use my existing pump? Do you sell them? Also - what psi does the bottom section of the monstabed need to be inflated to? And have there been any reports of needing to continually top up the bed with more air over a number of days? This is a very expensive bed, so wanting to be sure of these things before purchasing. Is the warranty void if not using the zempire branded pump? Thanks - I don’t want to have to buy or carry another pump. Thanks so much.
G'day Lisa,
If your pump has a boston valve attachment it is possible that it could be used for the Zempire monstabed but we are not able to confirm this as we do not stock the Flextail Max SUP pump. The preferred pump for the Monstabed would be the Zempire Monstapump Rechargeable Inflator/Deflator, which will seal perfectly over the Monstabed valve. This pump is not PSI rated but if you do use a pump with a PSI gauge, it would be best not to exceed 1 PSI. Hope this helps!
Hi, Would this fit in a Darche 260 tent (using the centre pole, not the A frame in the tent)? If yes, how far out from the wall would it need to sit? As well as a Sea to Summit regular wide, comfort deluxe mat?
G'day Camille,
Head to our Safari 260 product page, and check out our features video - at the 11:30 mark we run a mattress in the tent to show you a realistic view of the space.
You'll be able to fit both mats in, and will essentially be able to put them anywhere you like in the tent, except smack bag in the middle.
On the monstabed which depth of fitted sheet would fit the bed?
G'day Gail,
The height of this bed is 35cm, so you'd go with a fitted sheet that would cover that depth.
Has Zempire fixed the leaking issues on this newer version? There are heaps of complaints about the Monstamat failing after a few years, like the glue coming off around the seams, or around the value. Cheers
G'day Kelly,
The Monstamat is a different bed to this one, this is the Monstabed.
There are a handful of reviews around the monstamat with leaking after a few years, but several hundred 5 star reviews.
Its not an issue, so nothing to fix. Fortunately it happens rarely and is often down to how the mattress is stored and cared for over the years.
This sort of this occurs on occassion with all self-inflating mattress brands, not specifically Zempire.
Hope that helps.
Can you use just the top section by itself as a self inflate if going on a solo camp in a smaller 1 person tent? So dual purpose? If so can you include a video or photos of how this would look with just the top section inflated? Thanks.
G'day,
No, you can't. The mat on top isn't the same as a Monstamat, its a component of a complete bed with each layer working together to maximise comfort.
The top layer is too soft to use on its own, and wont be comfortable.
Is this mattress suitable for cold weather camping?
G'day CJ,
Sure! This mattress will be suitable for year round use.
