The Black Wolf Mojave HV4 tent is a classic single room dome tent with enclosed vestibule which makes it ideal for families who like to get out and explore.
This tent has been designed to have increased interior space so there’s plenty of headroom so you don't feel crammed in like sardines. The front room is full mesh and has two windows and three doors for easy access and ventilation on balmy summer evenings. When you want some privacy, close up the sleeping area using the solid door, or use the mesh option when you want extra air flow. The fly on the Mojave HV4 has taped seams and a 2000mm waterhead rating should you encounter a drizzle.
Organise your essentials in gear loft and stash pockets to keep your space nice and tidy, and kit out your shelter with ease by threading the cords for your appliances through the zippered powercord access. Black Wolf has also designed this tent with curtained sky panels, so you can catch a glimpse of the heavens as you drift off to sleep.

We've had our SG4 for 7 years & it's still going strong. Understandably some of the pole are starting to deteriorate & crack & need replacing. Is it possible to purchase replacement poles, if so is it possible to use alloy poles?

I am looking for a good quality tent that one person can pitch by themselves as I go adventuring by myself a lot. Can this be done with this tent?

You've made a great choice of tent with the Black Wolf Mohave HV4. This can definitely be set up with one person although it can be a little tricky. Like with most dome tents, you need to pin in your poles at the base and whilst it's definitely possible with one person, it's a heck of a lot easier with a mate.

Connecting Fly to Poles1 answer
I was wondering if there are any tags to connect the fly to the poles other than pegging it down at the bottom?

Vestibule size1 answer
I just want to get confirmation on the vestibule size. On your site it says 2.4m x 2.4m. On the blackwolf site it says 2m x 2.4m. Could you please clarify on this?

We usually undertake all measurements ourselves to double check specifications. Unfortunately, we don't currently have a display model for the Black Wolf Mohave HV4 Tent so I can't double check this for you. If it's a major concern, I'd recommend going with the 2m measurement provided by Black Wolf to be safe.

Great question. The Black Wolf Mohave SG4 is the model prior to the Black Wolf Mohave HV4.
In terms of specifications, the only major difference is the HV4 now has an extra pole through the main body of the tent to assist with water run-off.

Checking about awnings on doors1 answer
I noticed that a question about awnings on the larger HV6 tent was answered in the negative- no awnings on doors and no eyelets to allow this. So thought I would check regarding the HV4 tent - does it have the option of using door flys as awnings and are there any poles included? Could not see poles mentioned in the specifications. Also - the external/internal pictures of these 2 tents appear identical to me. I would have thought there would be some differences as the dimensions are very different.

We had a bit of contradictory information about the awning, so we pulled both tents out of the bag, and we found that here are eyelets on the door and awning poles included with the Mojave HV6 and the Mojave HV4.
I’m so sorry about that confusion Deborah, I’ll make sure I correct that so no-one else gets confused.Â
As for the photos, I've checked with Black Wolf who supply our images, and they've said that reason the Mojave 4 and 6 look almost identical is that the only difference is the size.Â

Head room clearance in front room1 answer
Could you please tell me what the height of the front entry door is and what the head room is in the front room? Very interested in purchasing this tent but don't want to have to stoop over at any point. I'm 173cm high. Thanks guys!

You may have to stoop Happy Camper, but only a little. The height in the front section is about 175cm, but this does not account for the rolled up doorway which hangs a little below this. I would say that at 173cm you'd have to duck under the doorway, then whilst standing centrally in the front section of the Mojave HV4, your head would just touch the ceiling. The HV6 offers about 180cm of height in the front section, but it is a much larger tent all round.

G'day Sam, all of the doors and windows on this tent including the rear door have the mesh fly screen, so you can keep your tent well ventilated while keeping the bugs out.Â

The HV4 comes with two steel awning poles Vi, for which Black Wolf claim is for the 'rear awning'. However, the side entrances and I'm quite certain that the front entry have eyelets so any of these can be extended as shade awnings. I don't have one pitched in the store at the moment, but I did a quick check of the eyelets on the fly of a rolled up tent to check this. You can add extra awning poles to your setup in order to be able to set up more than one awning.

What is the width and height of the side entrance. Is there an exit directly opposite the side entrance, to enable a motorcycle to be ridden through?1 answer
I am looking for a tent enabling a motorcycle to be parked in the vestibule. I need to ride entering from one side entrance and exiting out the other side. I realise the floor of the vestibule is not flat. (another question!) Do you think I could flatten the floor entrance and exit to enable access and exit without undue problems?

Hi Michael, I don't have one of these pitched in our store to give you the door width sorry, but I can confirm that there is a door on both sides. My feelings are that you may find it a little tight to get a bike in and out of this awning, the doors are generally wide enough for one person to step through, and by the time you tighten things up by flattening the floor, it's going to get awkward. Have a look a the Zempire Neo 5 dome tent, it's a little smaller but has large side doors and a walk through vestibule with a flat floor.
