The Merrell Men’s Moab 2 LTR GTX mid-cut boot combines out of the box comfort and durability for performance on the trail.
The upper is made from durable suede and mesh, while the Gore-tex membrane will keep water out, and still allow your feet to breathe. You don’t have to stress about debris from the trail making its way into your boots, as the Moab 1 has a bellows tongue for protection. Your toes will be protected from getting knocked about thanks to the rubber toe cap, and the EVA footbed provides arch and heel support.
The EVA contoured footbed supports your arch and heel, while the Vibram sole provides a durable and slip resistant surface to grip the terrain. Moab stands for the mother-of-all-boots, as they’re comfy, durable and supportive – so they tick all the boxes for hikers looking for a solid pair of boots.
First class boot. Did a 10k walk first time on. Took a spare pair of boot just in case but didn’t need them. These boot were comfortable straight out of the box. Would highly recommend 👍
It probably took a couple of wears and a few kms walked before they felt really supportive and comfy. My only negative is that they feel quite warm on your feet on a warm day. but overall very good. Very pleased with my purchase.
I got these boots based on reviews of the MOAB MID GORE-TEX boot. But after wearing them for 2 weeks now i find them to be very uncomfortable to wear. I do have a wide foot and these boots seem to feel narrow at the heal for me. I normally take a Australian size 8, and based on the Merrell sizing chart I got US size 8.5 but I maybe should have got these in US size 9. I thought the boots might give a little after wearing them but after 2 weeks they still are the most uncomfortable boots I have owned. I think i'll be going back to Hi Tech boots. The build quality of these boots is very good, but i think the sizing is out by half a size, and they seem to have a narrow fit. Maybe a half size bigger would be better, but I'm not buying another pair. Maybe add a half size to what Merrells size chart says. If you take a Australian/UK size 8 get the US size 9. Not 8.5. As i think Merrell 8.5US = 7.5 Australian/UK
Great fit. Very comfortable.
AFTER WEARING OTHER BOOTS FOR
MANY YEARS I FIND THESE BOOTS
EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE ALSO
BREATHE WELL,A VERY WISE CHOICE.
Are these boots suitable for heavyweight hiking up to about 5 days worth of hiking?
The Merrell Moab Leather is a mid-weight boot and whilst I would say they are fine for carrying a heavy pack, it's worthwhile considering the terrain as well. If you're hiking on reasonably well-maintained trails boots like these are fine. If you were going to spend 5 days walking 'off track' in Tasmania, I'd probably recommend something heavier. Hey there, will you be getting more stock in of these? I'm a size US 10 but the only sizes available on the website are 8 and 8.5
Hi, I normally take a size 8 AU/UK or 42EU size boot. 9US with most boots. But I've read that with Merrell boots that a 8.5US size is same as AU/UK size 8? Is that correct?
You're right with that. When looking at the UK to US sizes of Merrell Boots, the UK sizes are all half a size smaller.
