The Sea to Summit Micro McIII is the ideal sleeping bag for the ultra-lightweight hiker or trekker or cyclist that’s heading into crispy, cold yonder. Packing down small and light, the McIII will hardly make a dent in your pack or pannier - so you’ll hardly feel it on your back or in your legs.
The horizontal baffle construction, newly reshaped hood, and 850+ loft 95% European goose down will ensure that no cold spots to interrupt your sleep. While the 55/45 fill ratio will keep your core insulated as you twist and turn in your sleep. The Nylon 2D NanoShell™ will keep moisture at bay while providing breathability so the down in your bag will stay in tip-top conditions for years of adventures.
The Micro McII has a drawcord foot closure, so you can flip between technical box foot mummy and open rectangular configuration to free up your feet. This bag also features a zipped internal pocket for keeping your wallet, passport, or phone safe and warm, a micro anti-snag zip that actually works, and a lightweight Ultra-Sil® compression bag so small it might just get lost in your pack. The Micro McIII is ideal for fast and light travellers heading off on a chilly adventure into the Australian or New Zealand Alps.
How does the Micro MC range compare with the Spark range?
G'day Anthony,
The Sea to Summit Micro MCIII and Spark SP3 are both really good options with quite a few similarities. They hit a similar comfort and lower temperature limit. The most noticeable differences are the zipper configurations. The Spark has a 1/3rd zipper, and the Micro has a full-length zipper. This means that the Spark Bag is a little lighter, and will compress a little smaller. Both are great options though, and I'd be confident in any Sea to Summit sleeping bag.
Hi, does the MC3 also feature the drawcord foot box and is it possible to get a picture of the MC2 regular next to the MC3 packed down, just so I can get a feel for the size differences, thanks
G'day Robin,
The Sea to Summit Micro MCIII Sleeping Bag does have the drawcord foot box just like the MCII. I've also popped a photo below for you to see the two side by side. The MCIII is the larger of the two.
This Micro 3 is different to those that I have seen on other websites (including the Sea to Summit website). The others have quilted baffles but the one pictured on your website has horizontal baffles. Is this a newer model? Also, the sleeping bag you have pictured seems more mummy shaped than the others I have seen. Do these still zip open into a rectangular shaped quilt?
G'day Alex,
The horizontal baffles are the newer model of the Sea to Summit Micro MCIII Sleeping Bag. The bag also has a "mummy" type shape because it has an open bottom that is pulled shut with a drawstring. If you unzip the bag all the way, it will open up like a blanket, no worries at all!
