What is the width of the floor at the narrowest point? I'm trying to work out if it would fit our two rectangular (not tapered) mattresses side by side, which will be no problem at the shoulders but it looks like this is much narrower at the feet end. The mattresses are 51cm and 63cm respectively so a total width of 114cm+ (Some wiggle room would be good) is needed. If it doesn't fit we can consider the grasshopper 3 but at considerably more weight.
G’day Michael, the Black Wolf Mantis II and Grasshopper III are out of stock online and in store so I can’t personally check the measurements for you, but I can advise you based on the dimensions given by Black Wolf. The width of the inner tent of the Mantis II is 1.4m, and the width of the inner tent of the Grasshopper III is 1.8m so you should have enough space for your mattresses in both models but the Grasshopper would give you more space for your gear.
We're taking this tent on the Overland Track - would a footprint be advisable to save the floor?
