Where old school reputation meets contemporary quality – the Makalu Poles by Leki offer relief on rocky tracks and no-pressure pacing on the ups.
The aluminum construction and lightweight Aergon Air grip aid controlled and comfortable handling and stability on the slopes from your palms to the path. Lightweight and snug straps boast as much adjustability as breathability while their added safety release feature has you surging to the summit. Take comfort into your own hands with the rubber grip head for optimum control and Speed Lock Plus system for seamless adjustment and a fixed hold. On the softer, snow-capped surfaces, compact trekking baskets at the base provide a backstop, while robust tips deliver precise positioning and good grip on the ups and drops.
Take in the scenes of the summit with premium trekking protection thanks to the legendary Leki Makalu Poles.
I am 195cm tall and weigh 95kg. Would this pole be strong enough to support someone of my size. In past I have had budget poles that have buckled under me when I fell and tried to use the pole to keep me upright.
G'day Pierre,
Yes the Makalu poles would be suitable for you. The poles are HTS 6.5 Aluminium, strong and durable - recommended for your height and weight.
Are these the same Leki Makalu Lite? Or is this a different model and what are the differences?
G'day Pierre,
The main difference is that the Makalu Lite is lighter and slimmer than the standard Makalu poles.
Hi there. Do you have powder baskets for the Leki Makulu Trekking poles, and if so, how much are they?
G'day Alan,
We don't stock the Snow baskets for these sorry, there are a few other online Australian retailers that do have them available.
