The last thing you need is to drop your phone in a puddle when you’re using it as a torch to find your way around camp at night. Get yourself a proper lantern like the Zempire Luken to illuminate your surroundings, and prevent any mishaps in the dark.
With a 360 LED area light, you’ll have plenty of illumination despite the petite size of this lantern. And it can be recharged via a USB outlet thanks to its rechargeable lithium ion power supply. You can sit it on the ground, on a table, or you can hang this thing up but its handles to bring light to your entire shelter. The dimmer switch makes it easy on the eyes when you’re night vision isn’t up to Terminator levels, or it can make for some romantic mood lighting in your tent.
The rubberised outer is super durable, so it’ll survive all those knocks and scrapes that are inevitable when you’re in the great outdoors. When you’re not using it around camp, get the most out of your Zempire Luken by keeping it in your storage cupboard for blackouts, or in the back of your car for roadside emergencies.
Great lamp. Good light. Solid hours of power. But the black control knob is very fragile and broke almost straight away :(
you can't go wrong with this lamp for the price Snowys are charging. I've had to use it in a recent blackout and was able to use the USB output to charge my phone. I haven't had to use it in "anger" yet, but I'm sure it will do its job really well.
This lamp is quite small but produces enough ambient light for basic tasks. It won't throw a large spread of bright light, it it doesn't pretend to. It does what it says it does for a great price.
If I charge this using a usb car charger, will it flatten my car battery? I will also be using an air pump to inflate a double mattress. ie how much can a car battery handle? Thanks
Most people when it comes to inflating their mats will just run the pump off their car (as it only takes around 3 mins) to prevent flattening the battery.
We don’t recommend charging from single car battery unless the car was running. This is to ensure you don’t drain your battery which is responsible for starting your car – we’d hate to see you stranded!
We don’t know the draw of the Lukern Lantern, but it takes 5 hours to charge it fully – so we would only recommend charging this lantern when driving your car to prevent flattening your battery.
It may be best to check battery expert or mechanic to make sure you’re being safe, as battery condition will vary.
