Kick Ass 30L draw fridge1 answer

1. Do you have to mount it to the bracket? I’m looking for something to go under a bench seat in a van with only 31cm clearance 2. Also if the temperature goes to —10C why can’t I use it as a freezer?

Leone - Springfield, NSW(3 months ago)

G'day Leone,

While you technically do not have to mount it to the included bracket for operation, you do want your fridge to be secured in place, particularly if it is going to be inside a vehicle. If it is unsecured and sustains any damage due to freely moving about, you will likely not be covered by warranty. With the bracket, it would just fit in your space. Perhaps you could remove the bench seat, install the fridge, and then re-install the bench seat? You would only need >31 cm clearance for the installation/removal of the fridge, not its everyday use.

The normal operating temperature of a freezer for food safety in Australia is -18 degrees C, which is outside of the range of this fridge, meaning it cannot officially be classed as a freezer. That said, if you wished to run it at -10 degrees C and keep ice cream in it, you can certainly choose to do so- just keep in mind that food will not last as long in it as in an actual freezer.

Bracket included in measurements?1 answer

Is the mounting bracket included in the external dimensions listed in the description?

Diane - Arkaroola, SA (7 months ago)

G'day Diane,

No, the mounting bracket is not included in the listed product specifications. With the bracket included, the external dimensions come to 73.4L x 52W x 30.5H. I also recommend leaving about 5cm of free space above the fridge so that you can remove it from the bracket when needed.
