A normal drill is more than adequate - a hammer drill is designed for drilling holes in concrete or brickwork.

I'm not aware of any - I'd say hex pegs with a diameter less than 10mm wouldn't be very strong.
You might be able to find something like a coach screw, etc at your local hardware store that could do the trick.

Yep, they do - just needs to go sideways over the hook, and then when the spring twists up it gives it a solid fit.

The Hook Top Hex Pegs have a high quality threaded steel body, the washer is the only stainless steel component

I've just done some checking and the Hook Top Drillable Tent Pegs don't work overly well with trace springs. You could connect the trace spring to the hook with a small piece of rope or paracord and it would work well.

The Hex Pegs Hook Top Drillable Tent Pegs aren't great in soft sand, we'd probably recommend you get some specifically designed sand pegs for when you're camping in the sand.
