Is this tent suitable for hot weather? e.g. NT
G'day Iris,
The Oztrail Hiker 2 Dome Tent is a 2-3 season tent, meaning its ideal use is over Spring/Summer/Autumn.
There's also a reasonable amount of ventilation options, so you shouldn't have any trouble with this tent in warmer weather.
will it be cold in 5 celsius environment?
G'day Fiona,
Oztrail doesn't specify a waterhead rating on these tents, so it's hard to say for sure how waterproof they are, but we'd suggest proceeding with caution in wet weather. The inner of the tent is largely mesh, so you might be a little cold in 5'C, but it will depend on your entire sleep system.
Could you confirm if this is a free standing tent if the ground is to hard to insert pegs? I understand that if the ground is to hard, the vestibules cant be pegged out, but can the corners of the fly secure to the each of the inner tent ground corners and is there Velcro connections to align the fly to the poles. Thanks
G'day Brett,
Yes the Hiker 2 Dome Tent is a free-standing tent, so as you indicate if the ground is too hard to completely peg it out, the frame will be self supporting.
