The Deuter Helion 60L and 80L Wheeled Travel Packs are easy to manoeuver wherever you go and due to their build they can be left to stand solidly on their own.
They convert easily into back packs by zippering back the harness cover to reveal the comfortably padded carrying system. They can be left out when the handle is extended to stand solidly on their own.
I'm off to Europe, travelling by train with a lot of big city legwork. Backpack ... no, Suitcase ..... no, this is the ideal carry all. Deuter quality .... a great product.
Great product - best bag I've owned! Snowys was far cheaper than every other shop for the same product. Happy customer!
This is the ideal travel bag. A good size, excellent quality - wheels, zips, handles.
Travelling in Europe this bag is proving its worth, in train stations, airports, upstairs in hotels,in and out of cars.
I read some earlier comments about this bag and the harness being good for smaller women. I am 185 cm and I was wondering if the Helion 60 or the 80 might better suit my height. Thanks for the reply on the weight of the bag too.
You're very welcome, that's what I'm here for! As for which size would best suit, because of your height you could very well get away with the Helion 80, but just keep in mind that if you get a larger pack you're likely to fill it up to the brim and so it might get a little too heavy.
Both the 60 and the 80 aren't designed to be carried on your back for long periods of time, so the 80 would probably be fine if you were mostly going to carry it by wheeling it on the ground.
Can you please tell me the weight of the bag when empty...I think the weight shown on the website is wrong.
I apologise about the mix up with the weight, I’ve just checked with the supplier and the Deuter Helion 60 Wheeled Travel Pack weighs 3.4kgs when it’s empty. I've fixed the specs up now so it should read correctly on the product page.
is there more than 1 colour available
I've just checked this for you, and Deuter only make the Helion 60 Wheeled Travel Pack in the one colour which is black and blue.
Do you have recommendations for a daypack that may clip on?
The Helion 60 from Deuter is the smaller size from Deuter's wheeled travel pack range, and from examining it in store it should definitley be suitable for your 5"3 height.
Unfortunately due to the size of the buckles on the front of this pack, they are not compatible with the smaller day packs in Deuter's range. You may be able to purchase a seperate strap which will enable you to clip the wheeled pack and day pack together but that won't be the sturdiest option.
Deuter do some excellent day packs like the Giga or the Futura, but you may want to consider a wheeled pack that comes with a detacheable day pack like the Black Wolf Grand Tour, which is a good size for a more petite frame.
